Principal weekly update

Good afternoon!
If tomorrow should be a snow day, our parent conferences scheduled for tomorrow will be rescheduled for next Thursday February 22nd for the same time slots. Should that not work for you, please reach out to the classroom teacher for other times. Also if there is a snow day tomorrow and conferences are rescheduled the Parent coffee hour will be rescheduled for Thursday Feb 29th at 2:00.
Also some other reminders:
- February 15th is SRO day and we would love for everyone to make cards thanking officer Bobby for the great work he is doing here at MES!
- Please remember we need pictures for the year book!! Please see attached Yearbook flyer
- All Star is looking for bus drivers! Bus Company
- Remember to look for Ed Advance before school information for next year in their upcoming flyer for the 2024-2025 registration.
This years Black History gallery walk will run a bit different than last year. Below are the times that each grade level will walk the gallery. If you plan on walking with your child's class you will need to be there right at the start of their time. If you have multiple children and would like to walk with one of the classes you can let us know and we will arrange for siblings to walk at the chosen time. When you come in you will sign in at the lobby under your child's teacher. Please see below the times:
K 8:45 -9:00
1 9:15 - 9:45
4 10:00 - 10:30
2 10:45 - 11:15
3 2:00 - 2:30
5/PK 2:30 - 3:00
**Special note to our 5th grade parents please see the attached flyer for our first 5th grade activity scheduled in March. It will be a bowling night with BES 5th graders at Thomaston Lanes on Monday March 18th. Bowling Flyer

School hours are MTThF 8:25 am – 3:15 pm, doors open at 8:15 am. Our hours on Wednesday are 8:25 am - 2:35 pm.
2/13, 2/15, 2/16 are Parent Conference days and are all early dismissals (12:55 pm)
2/19, 2/20 No school - winter break

School Lunch/Breakfast

Breakfast is served at school at 8:15 am for those who wish to eat breakfast at school. Breakfast is free for all students. Lunch will be free for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Applications for free and reduced breakfast and lunch are found on the website and here: Application
Ice cream and snacks are now available to Grades K, 3, 5 on Tuesdays and Grades 1, 2, 4 on Thursdays. Please practice your child's PIN number with them!
Classroom Celebration sheets must be turned in 2 weeks before the celebration. Click Celebration sheet to complete the form then return the form and payment 2 weeks before the event.

Fifth Grade Bowling Night! The BES & MES 5th graders and their parents are invited to Meet & Mingle before they are all together at middle school next year! Monday, March 18, sign up for this fun night here!

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, please be mindful of the Region #14 Celebration Policy.
* Cards that contain candy or food of any kind will not be allowed to be distributed.
If brought in your child will not be able to bring it home on a bus.
