2021-22 Instructional Models--Choices!
In 2021-22, we plan to offer full-time, in-person instruction to all students at either their neighborhood school or the school from which they have received a transfer approval. This is the default assumption for every student who is not currently enrolled at Hillsboro Online Academy (HOA).
Students who transferred to HOA rather than participate in Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) or the Hybrid Model in 2020-21, received a separate communication letting them know they will be returned to their neighborhood school unless they request a new transfer to HOA for 2021-22.
Families that would prefer their student continue in the CDL model (available for grades K-8 only) are asked to complete the HSD transfer application no later than Friday, June 4, so we can staff that option appropriately.
For more information, please refer to last Thursday’s communication and its embedded video.
Summer Enrichment Opportunities for students will be shared next week! Be on the look out!
We will also be collecting Chromebooks and charging cords from graduating 6th graders as well on June 17, 2021!
Trends in Drug Addiction and Prevention
HSD, in collaboration with specialists from Washington County, is hosting a community forum on trends in drug addiction and prevention on Wednesday, Jun. 2, at 6 p.m.
There will be concurrent conversations taking place in English and Spanish. Please see the linked flyers for meeting information.

If your child has a Health Management Plan (HMP), it is uploaded into their document section in Synergy to give teachers important health information access. Please review your child’s HMP on ParentVUE in the document section. Also, check that the information listed in the health portion of ParentVUE is still accurate. (Contact your child’s school if you need an activation key or a printed copy.)
⮚ If there is a change on the HMP or updates in the ParentVUE health section needed, please contact HSD District Nurse assigned to your child’s school by August 23rd.
⮚ If nursing is not notified of any changes, the uploaded HMP will be implemented as is.
It is important that school staff have the most up to date information to ensure your child’s health and safety at school. Contact your District Nurse throughout the school year with any changes in your child’s condition.
Sincerely, Hillsboro School District Nurse Team
