Why Participate? Your District’s/School’s Locally Administered Assessment Data and PVAAS Together
Audience: LEA/District Leaders, School Leaders
Your LEA/district/school may have local assessment data in a web-based system with a range of reporting. Your LEA/district/school may also have a data warehouse with many different screens and reports. If these data resources already exist, why would your LEA/district want to take the time to upload our locally administered assessment data into PIMS to receive PVAAS reporting based on our locally administered assessments? Answers to these questions will be the focus of this session. A Pennsylvania district administrator will describe how this information, along with their local assessment data and data warehouse, added to their range of their data sources to enhance their local decision-making.

Looking for evidence-based practices to support intervention for math achievement and growth for your elementary learners. Review the video below and check out the resources provided in this updated practice guide.

The online calculator for CDT, PSSA, and Keystone Exams has moved from the Insight calculator to the Desmos calculator. The Desmos testing calculator is slightly different than the standard Desmos calculator. This link outlines the differences: Desmos Calculator. Students enrolled in grades 4 and 5 will have access to the basic four-function calculator, students enrolled in grades 6 through 8 will have access to the scientific calculator, and those taking the Algebra I Keystone Exam will have access to the graphing calculator.

To prepare students to use the testing calculator, download Desmos test mode applications to Chromebooks, iPads, and iPhones. Students using laptops can select the test mode calculator through the Desmos website.

The CDTs are an excellent way to help students prepare – the CDTs use the test mode Desmos calculator and provide an opportunity for students to practice using the online tool bars.
