The Board of Education, unanimously approved a resolution to place a $264.2 million bond proposal on a mail ballot this January.
The goal is that the Shawnee Mission School District can continue to be ranked among the finest school districts in the nation, employing exceptional educators who work in state-of-the-art facilities, where learners achieve their full potential.
FOOD SERVICE….Did you know…………
Did you know food service provides free pick up meals to students regardless if they are in remote, hybrid, or in-person learning? This includes breakfast and lunch meals. Meals provided cover the days the student is not in-person learning (including weekend meals).
There will be no meal pick up on Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 or Jan. 1, 2021. The next meal pick up date will be Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 from 6:30-7:45 a.m. at all schools.
Meals are funded entirely by USDA as part of their Summer Meals Program extension. These free meals will continue through the end of the school year. We encourage families to continue to apply for free and reduced meals. Qualifying may allow for other support through the district so it is important to continue to apply for free and reduced meals.
- Meals are available for pick up at all 47 SMSD schools.
- Pick up on Fridays from 6:30-7:45AM.
- No advance ordering is needed.
- Available only for students enrolled in SMSD.
- May pick up meals for all of your students at your most convenient location.
- At pick up, the student(s) SMSD ID number(s) will need to be presented. Please have this ready in advance. (Student ID may be found in Skyward.)
- Pick up at SMN will be in the front circle, outside the cafeteria. Please wear a mask and follow social distancing.
The school breakfast menus, lunch menus, and other nutrition information are available on the district’s website at https://www.smsd.org/about/departments/food-service.
