Gratitude
National Gratitude Month
November is National Gratitude Month, a time to celebrate and give thanks. Gratitude is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. Everything in our lives has the ability to improve when we are grateful. Research has shown that gratitude can enhance our moods, decrease stress, and drastically improve our overall health and wellbeing. On average, grateful people tend to have fewer stress related illnesses and experience less depression. If everyone practiced daily gratitude, we could change ourselves and the people around us for the better!
So, what are some ways to show gratitude?
- Say something nice to someone- a compliment, a word of thanks, or recognition
- Show your gratitude with a gift
- Invite someone to spend time with you
- Write your gratitude as a letter
- Show your appreciation by giving back to your community, neighborhood, or favorite organization
- Share your gratitude with others. Let someone know you're grateful for their care, service, or friendship
