This past week, we got to participate in our first REID Friday. For those of who were invited, thank you for partnering with us while we learned through our first experience. Having the opportunity to work with an intentional focus around teacher-identified Essential Learning Standards in a small group format was really powerful and the kids had a great time. If your child has been invited to the next REID Friday, please be sure to fill out the google form that was sent to your email inbox so we can plan accordingly, and assure we have the appropriate dismissal plans in place for your child.

Spirit week is just around the corner, and will be held on October 3rd - 6th.

The dress up days will be as follows:

Monday: Grade Level Color Day
Kinder: Blue
1st : Purple
2nd : Red
3rd : Green
4th : Orange
5th : Pink
Tuesday: Silly socks day/hat day
Wednesday: Dress for Success (School Picture Day)
Thursday: School Spirit/Athletics for Jog-a-Thon (Homecoming Parade Day)

In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will begin listing it out clearly for you each week. REID days for are invited students. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let. us know!

It is important to us that all our students have what they need in regard to technology. We rely on technology on a consistent basis in the classroom. If you happen to have a device or charger at home from last school year, please send it back to school with your child as soon as possible. Thank you.

We know that weather can sometimes be unpredictable in Oregon and at times, students may need to access their learning from home for the day if we need to close school. In order for us to be prepared to best support you and your child, please take a couple minutes to fill out this technology survey so we can get you connected with the right items. Thank you!

Mark your calendar! Picture day is coming on October 5th and you can expect more information coming home soon. You can also order pictures online via http://mydorian.com.

Dental3 will be providing free dental screenings, sealants, and fluoride at your child’s school in the week of October 24th . Healthy teeth are important to your child’s overall health. A dental screening is a quick look inside your child’s mouth to check the overall health of their teeth. Dental sealants are protective coatings put on the back teeth and are a quick and easy way to prevent cavities.

We will be holding a jog-a-thon on Thursday, October 6th. Pledge information was sent home on Thursday in your child's Thursday folder. This is a great opportunity for your child to earn pledges for our school. If you have any questions, please let us know!

Did you know we have Prestige Theatre Tickets available for purchase at the school? Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis for $6.75 each and can be used at the Sandy Cinema. Some restrictions apply. If you have questions about this, give our office a call.

If you wish to send snacks or gifts for your child’s birthday, the office will be happy to call your student out of class to see their surprise. To minimize classroom disruptions, our policy is to keep flowers, balloons, gifts, etc. in the office until the end of the day. When the student is released for the day, they can pick up their gift and take it home. Please contact your child’s teacher to make necessary arrangements for celebrations that can be scheduled at a time that is compatible with the day’s learning schedule. State law requires that snacks fit the healthy criteria for the Oregon Smart Snack law.

My School Bucks is an online payment service that provides parents the ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases, and receive email notifications for low account balances.
