Fain Fourth Graders Celebrate Smashing Their Reading Goals

"TWENTY-FIVE of my forty students met their individual goals!! It was an awesome way to end our week before the Thanksgiving break," said Ms. Cullar.
Rider HOSA Students Spend the Day at United Regional
Rider HOSA students took a tour of United Regional before Thanksgiving Break to learn about the different areas of healthcare. The group had the opportunity to tour many departments in the hospital, including Infusion, Respiratory, 4 West, Laboratory, Mother/Baby, and Rehab. While in the infusion department, they were able to work with the sonogram machine that helps the nurses find veins when inserting long term lines. While learning about the rehab department, they had the chance to use some of the equipment and even had the chance to drink thickened water that the speech therapist gave them. The laboratory was super exciting for all of them getting to look through the microscopes along with the Laboratory Scientist who showed them and explained what cells were on the slides. Lastly, they toured the mother/baby unit and got to work with dummies that had heart beats and breath sounds. If you know any students that would be interested in HOSA (group for students who want to be future healthcare providers) once they get into high school, please see Mrs. Sandoval.

Currently, TAG students are studying different regions of the world and solving problems related to that region. Photo ops were set up related to those regions.
