A Message from Our Assistant Principal
It’s that time of year again…already. We are on our last week of testing and quickly approaching May. As you all know by now, May comes with countless interruptions and schedule juggling acts if you have multiple students in Tuscumbia City Schools. With that in mind, it’s never too late to finish strong. Mr. Tate has reminded us all that we can finish this year exhausted or exhilarated. We hope this message translates to our families and students as well.
While we are all at a friendly level of tiredness, we must all make an effort to prioritize attendance while doing our best to be prompt in the mornings. Getting to school on time can be a struggle for everyone. Believe me, I personally will hit snooze while mentally eliminating “to do’s” from my morning routine to make sure I make it on time. When we are all moving slow in the mornings with multiple stops, traffic tends to pile up. So here are a couple of friendly reminders to make your morning and the morning of others more calm. Deshler Middle opens our doors at 7:15. When you are able, make this your first stop. Secondly, pull all the way up in the parking lot before having your child exit the vehicle. By pulling forward, we can speed up the process and have more vehicles leave the parking lot quicker. Lastly, and most importantly, please follow the traffic guidelines when exiting our parking lot. While I understand, we are all in a hurry, our students’ safety is the utmost priority. Please do not pull out of the line after dropping off your student. Thank you for your patience and assistance in getting our day started smoothly and safely.
Also, keep in mind, the calendar is jam packed this time of year. Field trips, honor’s day, field day, and exams. All of the events can be found on the Tuscumbia City School calendar in addition to all schools within our system.
