TWO MURASKI 2ND GRADERS SELECTED TO APPEAR ON STORYVOICE LIVESTREAM
On the last day of school, Mrs. Timko’s 2nd grade class at Muraski Elementary joined students from around the country on a Storyvoice live streaming event. Storyvoice hosts events of actual real-life authors sharing their published works through a read-aloud that is broadcasted nationwide. Throughout the year, Mrs. Timko’s class has logged in to several of these events to listen to authors read their books aloud and also get involved through some written audience participation via prompts that appear on screen.
In a recent Writer's Workshop hosted by Storyvoice, students were guided through some prompts to create their own personal memoirs about where they are from. These memoirs have them describing who they are through details about where they live, their favorite foods, special memories, etc. as they write, "I come from..."
From hundreds of memoir submissions from students around the country, TWO 2nd graders from Muraski were chosen to read aloud on the LIVE Storyvoice broadcast - Congratulations to Lillian H. and Hailey E. for being selected to share their stories! Muraski was one of just five classrooms across the country with student authors being highlighted!
