Title 1 Funding in the Dunlap School District
Dunlap CUSD #323 receives Federal Title I, Part A Funds to help ALL students meet challenging state academic standards. Title I Funds are alloted to school districts based on what is called a "poverty indicator" and in Dunlap CUSD #323's case, we utilize Free or Reduced Lunch recipients in order to receive our allotment.
Regardless of whether or not your child(ren) receive free or reduced lunch, ANY student with an identified need to receive an intervention is eligible for services purchased with Title I, Part A Funds.
Wilder-Waite Grade, is a "Schoolwide Support" building wherein Title I Funds can be used to supplement the academic and social-emotional learning curriculum and district-provided materials as identified through needs assessments that help determine, based on multiple data points, where additional support is needed.
Dunlap CUSD #323 believes that the partnership between schools and families is crucial in order for all students to achieve success. The Department of Education, the Federal Agency that oversees and disburses the Funds, requires school districts to hold annual parent engagement meetings to look over the Parent and Family Engagement Policy and to sign the "Title I Parent Compact."
As an initial measure to engage families and gather feedback, we are hosting initial Title I Informational Meetings virtually to get stakeholder feedback on the Parent Engagement Policy and Title I Program Offerings through this Google Form. We appreciate your time and feedback as we continue to work to offer the best learning environments for our students. Additional Family Engagement Nights will be announced through the upcoming school year.
The Dunlap CUSD #323 Title I Director is Matt Andrews (Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Human Resources), mandrews@dunlapcusd.net. If you have any Title-I specific questions that don't relate to the services your student receives at his/her home building, please feel free to reach out to Matt with any questions. Additional resource links can be found below.
Lost & Found
During Fall Conferences, the Lost & Found will be in the main hallway when you enter the school. Please take a moment to check to see if anything belongs to your student(s)!

Spook Spectacular - Saturday October 28th!
๐ WHAT IS SPOOK SPECTACULAR?๐
Spook Spectacular is a fall fundraiser that the Wilder-Waite PTO has been holding for 74 years...that's right 74 years! The fundraising portion of the event involves a raffle drawing and silent auction. However, there is also lots of FUN for Wilder-Waite students and families!
During the day on Saturday, October 28th, Wilder-Waite will become a Halloween carnival. Students are invited to wear their Halloween costumes while taking part in the festivities! Enjoy games in the gymnasium, cotton candy made by Mrs. Berg, treats for purchase in the Sweet Shop (in the Wilder-Waite cafeteria) and more! This event is free to all Wilder-Waite families and we hope to see you there!
Raffle Tickets:
Just a few more weeks of raffle ticket sales! We are tracking our top sellers! And, students can start selling now - it is not too late! Raffle permission slips can be picked up by your student in the office.
Volunteers:
We are always looking for volunteers for Spook. No time donated is too big or too small! You can volunteer with setup/tear down, kitchen, games, etc. Please reach out to newby31@gmail.com to get involved.
Students:
Start thinking about your costumes! You will be able to wear your costume to school on Friday AND to Spook on Saturday. And, start thinking about how you would like to decorate your pumpkin, if you want to participate in the Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Check to the newsletter soon for more information on participating in the contest.
Thank you to all who are or will be helping to make Spook Spectacular a huge success this year!
