Making it Work
As many of you know, case rates are on the rise across the globe. The Delta and Omicron variants are impacting families and industries everywhere. At Fletcher Elementary, we were no exception. Staff and student absences due to illness have been significant. However, our staff rallied again for a second week and made it work for our students. They made it look easy, even though it was not easy. Patience, persistence, perseverance. Our sincere hope is that you and your families are staying healthy or quickly recovering if you're ill.
Our vaccine clinic returns in two weeks on January 25th. No appointments are required. Primary, secondary, and booster COVID vaccines are available along with Flu vaccines. We will be open from 2PM-6PM.
As a reminder, school will not be in session this Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Please dedicate the day to learning more about the injustices and hardships faced by those in marginalized communities. Dr. King's legacy is one of nonviolent protest in service of equal rights for all. Learn more about what you and your students can do to get more involved in the cause of equity and social justice here: "Meaningful ways to celebrate Martin Luther King Day for Kids and Adults"
“If you can’t fly then run,
if you can’t run then walk,
if you can’t walk then crawl,
but whatever you do
you have to keep moving forward.”
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Budget Priorities for Next Year
It's that time of year again! Time to start thinking about next year. Each January schools begin the process of getting input from their families and staff about what needs should be prioritized in the next year's budget. This is done through an online survey. The results of the survey are then shared with the School Site Council and the staff as a whole for further recommendations. Later in February, Principals receive their school budget for the next year. Using the feedback from families and staff, Principals then work to allocate sufficient funding in the budget to meet the needs of the site.
Please take a moment to complete the family survey by January 21st.

Report an Absence Online
Although we want students to be in school each day for class, we know that absences will happen. It is important that parents report their student's absence within 24 hours. Absences can be reported via our online form, phone or email. Please let us know if you have any questions and thank you for your support.
