Bronson Community Schools District Update
November 3, 2023
THANK YOU!
Thank you to those families who came to meet with teachers and discuss your child's progress during parent-teacher conferences last month! As educators, we value the partnership we have with the families of the students we serve.
If you have additional questions/concerns regarding your child, please reach out to their school staff.
Proposed Sinking Fund Renewal
At their Regular Meeting on July 24, 2023, Bronson's Board of Education approved a Sinking Fund Resolution which includes ballot language for the renewal of the current sinking fund for voters to consider on the November ballot. The proposed renewal would renew the sinking fund at the current Tax Rate (1.9766 mills) to generate approximately $460,000/year, if collected.
Click the button below for information about the Sinking Fund Renewal Proposal.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with additional questions you might have regarding this proposal. My contact information can be found at the bottom of this update.
Milliman Trust Funds - Update
Short-Term Plan
At the October 2nd Board meeting, the Board of Education decided that the Milliman Trust funds would be put into an interest-bearing account at this time (with additional funds from the general fund). This decision may need clarification, as the rationale was not explicitly shared.
A Sinking Fund Millage Renewal is up for voter consideration on November 7, 2023. If the renewal does not pass, we will need additional funds within the district to address needs that the sinking fund millage renewal could have addressed. Therefore, the board decided the funds from the Milliman Trust would stay within the district in a capital, interest-bearing account until after the sinking fund millage renewal proposal. After November 7, we will begin our analysis and plan to coordinate funding sources to meet the needs of our students and the intended purposes by prioritizing the needs of the district and using input from the completed survey.
Should you have additional questions about this, or other funding sources, please reach out directly to Superintendent Wall:

Calling All Alumni
Are you someone who went to, graduated from, and/or worked at Bronson Community Schools? If so - you're eligible to be part of the Alumni Association! Please find information from the Association, below.
The Bronson High School Alumni Association has begun a collaboration with the Board of Education to provide support and services to the Bronson Community Schools. In addition to providing Scholarships, we are making an investment of knowledge, skills, resources, services, and time for the students in all grade levels. We are asking you, as a Bronson Alumni, to join us in this endeavor. No contribution is too small, whether it be monetary or giving of your time and talents. We each have something we can contribute to the students, staff, and administration.
This is an exciting year for the Bronson Community Schools. New and exciting things are happening; the BHSAA is proud to be a part of that. Let’s work together to make a difference, change a life, achieve small goals with big results, give back to the community, and simply set an example for future generations.
We encourage you to complete the form linked below to be added to our mailing list and learn about what is new with the Bronson High School Alumni Association. If indicated in your form, A BHSAA Board Member will contact you and share how you can become a volunteer for a program that aligns with your interests.
