Cleveland STEM High School

November 17, 2023
Hello Cleveland Families,
We have so much to be thankful for here at Cleveland. I am reminded every day I walk through our main doors of what a special, unique, and beautiful community that all of us who call Cleveland "home" get to be a part of. Thank you once again for the honor of serving this school.
Today, we capped off our school week with our Winter Sports Pep Assembly, which was highlighted by a students vs. staff basketball game (the students got us this time!) and included impressive performances by our drumline team and cheer team! The afternoon was a needed reminder of the importance of coming together to laugh and be in community.
As we head into this short school week and the long holiday weekend, I hope you and your family come together around laughs and community. We hope you have a safe and warm holiday weekend.

Cleveland Booster Presents: Pint Night on November 29th!
We are excited to share with you a great fundraising opportunity for the Cleveland community, organized by our Cleveland Boosters. This event is made possible with the very generous support of Perihelion Brewery in Beacon Hill. Thank you, Perihelion, for supporting the Cleveland community! Please check out this great opportunity to enjoy some drinks (including non-alcoholic options), buy a beautiful Cleveland Pint Night glass, and support Cleveland athletics!
Refer your student for therapy
Joon is a Seattle-based company that provides online therapeutic services for 13-24 year old clients. When students are signed up for services, they are matched with a therapist with expertise in their particular areas of need.
If this sounds like a service your student might benefit from, you can refer them right now, using this link. This service is free for Cleveland students and it is available through, at minimum, the end of this school year.
Upcoming assemblies on internet safety
Many of our students spend a lot of time online, but few have been taught about internet safety.
Starting this week, we will have two Advisory Assemblies from the WA State ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Task Force. They are going to provide education and information on Internet Safety. We have invited them in because of increased reporting around these issues and concerns from Cleveland students and staff. Some of the topics that will be discussed will be:
- Cyberbullying
- Sextortion'
- Online Digital Footprint
The Advisory Assembly on Wednesday, 11/29 (the week after Thanksgiving break) will be for 9th & 10th grade students.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Principal Lam.
