Celebrating Partners in Kindness (PinK) Award Recipients
PSD awarded five remarkable businesses with the prestigious "Partners in Kindness" (PinK) awards. These awards recognize the outstanding contributions made by individuals, organizations, and groups who have generously donated more than $1,000 in cash, goods, or services directly benefiting the students at the Pasco School District.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Parr Lumber, Capital Lumber, International Wood Products, American Rock Products, and Ag West Farm Credit. Their combined donations, exceeding $17,000, have been instrumental in supporting the construction of an outdoor classroom at Twain Elementary School.
Their generosity goes beyond measure, and we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support of Pasco students and schools. Together, we are making a lasting impact on the education and well-being of our community.
Recognizing School Psychologists
November 6-10, 2023, is School Psychologist Awareness Week (SPAW) in Washington. We are honored to celebrate and acknowledge the excellent services that school psychologists provide to the students and staff of Pasco School District.

CTE Leveraging Partnerships Study Session
Laura Jones, Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), discussed PSD’s CTE programs and how our community partnerships help us achieve the district’s CTE goals.
Board members had the opportunity to participate in three round table topics to learn how industry partnerships are impacting Student Leadership Organizations like DECA, FFA, FCCLA, TSA, and Skills USA; Community Engagement Managers at each high school connect with industry partners to support career connected learning activates in their buildings; and students learning is enriched through class partnerships with Microsoft Technology Education and Learning Support (TEALS) and Habitat for Humanity.
Comprehensive High School #3: Harvest View High School Branding Concepts
Raquel Martinez, the Planning Principal for Comprehensive High School #3, presented a comprehensive overview of the process used to recommend names for the school in alignment with district policy. She explained how student committees were involved in recommending the primary color and mascot for Comprehensive High School #3.
Anna Tensmeyer, the Director of Public Affairs, shared initial branding concepts, color schemes, and taglines created in collaboration with the branding company DLR Group and the PSD Public Affairs Team. These concepts were based on the Board’s selection of the name Harvest View High School, along with the student recommendation of the primary color, dark green, and mascot.
The Board was asked to discuss whether to continuing planning with the name Harvest View High School or to instruct district staff to collaborate with DLR Group in developing branding concepts for one or more of the other four names recommended by the High School Naming Committee.
The Board directed district staff to prepare branding concepts for two other recommended names: Sageview High School and Desert Vista High School. These concepts will be presented during the Tuesday, December 12 board meeting for discussion.
Construction Projects Update
Raúl Sital, Assistant Superintendent of Operations and Supports, provided an update on the construction of Comprehensive High School #3 and an overview of the Orion High School design.
We are in the 18th week of construction for High School #3 and are on schedule to open the school in Fall of 2025. View drone footage of the construction progress.
The design and development of Orion High School is in the final stages. The Capital Projects team submitted permits to the City of Pasco, which included the Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) and The State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA).
