Carver's Weekly Update
Week of Monday, January 23 2023
Carver Parents/Guardians,
- Our school day begins at 7:40 AM. All students should be in class and prepared to learn by 7:45 AM. Students who arrive late to school miss out on valuable instructional time. Our car line runs smoothly from 7:00-7:30 AM. There are too many parents trying to drop off students between 7:35 -7:45 in the mornings. This causes major chaos and delays. It is your students who are affected by this when they are late to class. I want to encourage parents to drop off students by 7:30 AM to avoid the increase in traffic.
- The disabled parking space is for students/adults who have a need to park close to the school. The disabled parking space is not for dropping off students without this need.
SC Elementary Honor Choir
Six Carver students will be performing with the SC Elementary Honor Choir on Saturday, February 4 at 10:00 AM in Lexington, SC. This performance follows a two-day clinic where elementary students from across the state rehearse with a nationally-known conductor.
Congratulations to the following students who will be attending:
Wren Boone
Stella Price
Miriam Welch
Miah Grace Fowler
Allie Lunsford-Phillips
Andreana Young
Our music teacher is Mrs. Christina Welch. She does an amazing job with our students.

A Snapshot of STEAM Learning at Carver!
From sorting to rolling to 100. The students in Mrs. Ward's class counted out licks of our lollipops and made cup towers out of 100 cups. It was a great day!
On the 101st day of school, it was Dalmatian Day in Mrs. Ward's class. Students did their pet adoptions. Students promised to read to their pets nightly and decorated dog houses/kitten houses for them. They also had special snacks and dressed as Dalmatians.
Staff Shout-out!
Applications are available for any new students who would like to be accepted through the STEAM Magnet Program. Returning STEAM Magnet students will not need to complete an application.
