CALA Panther Parent Newsletter
This newsletter includes bond information.
Week of October 22nd
Greetings Parents/Guardians,
This week begins week 2 of the 9 weeks.
Report cards posted electronically to Skyward on Friday. We will also be sending home paper copies later this week.
Students did a great job getting their pictures completed last week. They also had an opportunity to preview books for the book fair. This week we will host our book fair, recognize Red Ribbon Week, and celebrate 9 weeks accomplishments.
Please note announcements from our counselor below.
Book character/pumpkin decorating contest information went home last week. We can't wait to see how creative students will be.
As we near Halloween, students will come to school in regular dress and not wear costumes to school.
Be on the lookout for information regarding breakfast for dads and dad figures in early November.
See below for all other updates and important information.

November 2023 Bond
#panthersvote
As citizens, voting is one way we get to have a voice in our country, state, and local communities. We want to continue our culture of voting in Duncanville ISD, and hope to see our employees, parents, and neighbors participate in the November 7th election.
You’ll see the #panthersvote hashtag being used around town because we want to remind all Panthers how important their voice is.
If any of the following applies to you, we encourage you to register before October 10th (the state’s deadline for voter registration) so you can have a voice in the future of our school district!
Are you not currently a registered voter?
Have you recently moved into the Duncanville ISD boundaries?
Have you recently become a U.S. citizen?
Have you recently turned 18, or will be 18 by November 7, 2023?
If so, please pick up a voter registration card in our front office or follow the steps below to start your voter registration application. Be a part of the #panthersvote movement!
Voter registration is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Anyone who lives within the Duncanville ISD boundaries, meets state and county voter eligibility requirements, and is registered by October 10, may cast a ballot in this election. This includes students who will be 18 years old by November 7.
If you need to update your name or address, you can do that online! Visit VoteTexas.gov for more information.
Let your voice be heard in this important election. Get registered today!
Early Voting begins October 23, and Election Day is November 7.

Medical Needs
If you recognize these lost glasses, please contact the nurse.
Recognize one of these items? Ask your child to pick it up during their lunch.
Visitors
Lunch
Lunch takes place on the campus only. No deliveries will be accepted during the school day. Parent lunch visits will be permitted after Labor Day, once lunch time routines and procedures are running smoothly. This opportunity may be paused at any time due to health or safety concerns. I will provide more guidance about what this opportunity looks like as we approach Labor Day. If a student forgets their lunch, we will provide a lunch for them from the cafeteria. Since lunch is no longer free, there will be a cost for students needing their lunch replaced multiple times.
During lunch students will be seated 6-10 students to a table.
