Northview HS Newsletter

As January comes to a close, we have many opportunities for you to engage with our school in the month of February. Our winter athletes continue to perform well in all of our sports, our counseling team will host several financial aid workshops for students and families, and we will host our Spring Fling Dance this month.

We finished last week with a daily average attendance of 95.3%. Students who earn perfect attendance in the month of January will receive a Cup O' Noodles during lunch on Friday, February 2, 2024. Have a great week, Vikings!

This week all seniors started their FAFSA/CADAA in their English Class. The next step is for parents to complete their section. Parents should receive an email from studentaid.gov, they will need to answer some questions and go through a verification process. This step is essential for the students' FAFSA to process. If a student was absent on Wednesday January 24th, students must check in with Mrs. Corona at lunch this week or their counselor. It is mandated by California law that all seniors complete their FAFSA/CADAA this year. We will be offering some incentives for the first 75 seniors that fully complete their FAFSA throughout the month of February.

Complete the google form included in the powerpoint to register for an upcoming workshop, and attend the Live Virtual Q & A on Tuesday, Jan. 30th at 5:30-6:00 p.m. On Monday you will receive a link for the virtual meeting, but if you would like to submit a question ahead of time please use the link below.

Congratulations to Boys Basketball on their victory over Charter Oak HS last week! This week, Varsity will be away for their game against San Dimas HS on Monday, January 29 and home for their Senior Night game against Diamond Ranch HS on Wednesday, January 31. JV and Frosh/Soph will be home for their game against San Dimas HS on Monday, January 29 and away for their game against Diamond Ranch HS on Wednesday, January 31.

Congratulations to Girls Soccer on their victory over Covina HS last week! Varsity and JV Girls Soccer will be home for their Senior Night game against San Dimas HS on Monday, January 29 and away for their game against Diamond Ranch HS on Wednesday, January 31.

Congratulations to Boys and Girls Wrestling on their victory over Diamond Ranch HS last week and for earning the title of League Champions! Congratulations to the Girls Wrestling team on securing their spot in the CIF Duals Final Match!

The Girls CIF Duals Final Match will take place at Northview on Tuesday, January 30 at 7:00pm. Tickets can be purchased on GoFan for: $12 - Adults & $5 - Children/Students. Everyone must purchase a ticket to attend, including students with ASB cards.

The Boys and Girls Wrestling teams will also compete in the Valle Vista Wrestling League Finals at Northview on Friday, February 2 at 3:00pm.

Congratulations to the Competition Cheer team for placing 3rd at the CIF Southern Regionals Competition this past Saturday! The team's final competition of the season will be at USA Nationals on Friday, February 16.

Tickets are currently on sale for our Spring Fling Dance! The theme this year is: A Radiator Spring(s) Fling! The dance will be held at Boomers! in the City of Industry.

Dance tickets include:

-unlimited go-kart

-unlimited mini golf

-unlimited spin zone bumper cars

-unlimited arcade (excluding games that award immediate prizes such as the claw machine)

-1 meal from the Habit Burger truck

Tickets are currently being sold for:

$45 with ASB

$55 without ASB

$65 for a Guest

Ticket prices will go up $5 starting on Wednesday, January 31!

Don't forget that every student must have a dance contract signed by their parent/guardian and the Dean's office before purchasing a ticket!

We will be on Rally Schedule on Friday, February 9! We will take this time to celebrate students around campus for academic and athletic successes as well as spread a little kindness to our fellow Vikings! See you there!

Save the date for Viking Fest on March 28! We can't wait to show off our campus and all of the wonderful things happening at Northview to our current and future Viking families! More details to come as the date gets closer!
