WHAT'S NEW AT CTE
In November students learned about, reflected on, and practiced gratitude! Mrs. Dunker focused her lessons during Wellness on the many things each of us can show gratitude for. Students shared lists of what they are most grateful for ... and here they are!

BE EPICER @ CTE
BE EPICER @ CTE
At Cherokee Trail we focus on six traits, teaching and fostering them in our classrooms and school-wide in order to create learners who are strong academically and socially. They are:
ENTHUSIASM * PERSEVERANCE * INTEGRITY * COURAGE * EMPATHY * RESPECT
Read more on the EPICER page!
In December we will be focusing on INTEGRITY ... indicators:
* I am honest
* I show empathy to those around me
* I encourage and support others to do their best
* I do what is right even when no one is watching and it is not the popular thing to do
AT HOME: Ask your student "When you do something kind for someone else without being asked, how is that showing integrity?"

THE PRINCIPAL CHRONICLES
The Principal Chronicles continues....
As 2023 winds down and I begin to think about 2024 it provides a good chance to think back and reflect. This has been a challenging year so far with lots of ups and downs but one thing has remained constant throughout 2023: my continued love and support for this community. I have been at this school for 10 years and in the Chaparral feeder for 13 years and have watched how much Parker and CTE have changed. To me, the change has been positive, and even after all of this time I still feel lucky and fortunate to be at this school and a part of this community. As many of you know, I care deeply about this school and look at each one of our students (all 540) the same as I look at my own daughter. I want this school to be the very best it can possibly be and I will do whatever it takes to ensure our students reach their full potential. Cherokee Trail Elementary is not perfect and we always have things to work on, but I hope all of you know that my entire life revolves around the success of our staff and students. I spend a large amount of time both in and out of school working on ways to make our school a better place to be. I think our students deserve our best each and every day and that is how I approach my job every day.
I love this school, I love this community, and most of all I love our staff and students.
See you next time when the Principal Chronicles continues...
