MES F.U.N. - Family University Night Family Survey
We would like to start 4 family university nights (F.U.N) at MES this year. This is a chance for families to come together to become involved in our school. It is also an opportunity for family engagement and collaboration with teachers and staff. We are looking for family feedback as to how to best fit the needs of our students, families, teachers and staff. Please fill out this (anonymous) form to give your input on what you would like us to provide for you and your family.

Makeup Picture Day
TOMORROW 10/10/23 is our makeup picture day. If you are interested in placing an order, you can do so online at www.rp-studio.com/online-ordering.html
Minimum Day Tuesday
Please remember that tomorrow, 10/10/23 is a minimum day for all students with dismissal at 12:35pm.
MES ASB for students in grades 3-5
Come show your school spirit by joining ASB, which stands for, Associated Student Body. ASB members help plan fun school days like Wacky Hair Day! We will be having our first ASB meeting on Monday, October 16th from 2:40-3:30 in the first grade common area. ASB is for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. Please talk to Mrs. Turner or Sra. Mendez if you are interested in joining.
Attendance
Daily attendance is so important. Please remember to have your student attend every day and arrive on time to school. Our goal is to get above 95% daily attendance!
We have a new system integrated with our attendance program that is making automated contact with families when a student is marked absent. If you have already called in your child's attendance for the day, you can ignore the message. If you have not already made contact, please call our attendance hotline to report why @ 760-934-7162. If your childβs absence is not reported, it is considered truant. Also note that this is a monitored line for leaving an attendance message only. You will not receive a call back.
FUN RUN
For 35 years the Husky Pup Fun Run has been supporting the educational experience at Mammoth Elementary School.
Be Part of the Tradition.
Fun Run is Friday, October 13.
Did you know you can attend the Fun Run on Friday, Oct. 13 to cheer for your student and even run with them? Just for this event, the visitor check in is different. All visitors to our campus for the Fun Run must check in at the Husky Club road to the right (east) of the main building just past the visitor parking lot. The Fun Run happens on the school field at the back of the main building. DJ Send It (Ronnie Bruland, dad of two MES students) will be spinning tunes all morning. Woolly will be dancing and running with students along with McGruff the Crime Dog, Spot the Fire Dog and Smokey the Bear.
Come Join the Fun!
While on campus you might as well volunteer. Check out the Running and Tie Dye Schedule to help decide when you want to volunteer.

MAC - Mono Arts Council Spotlight
We are so excited to get started with our Create with the Greats program from Mono Arts Council. For our first artist this year, students will be learning about the art of Keith Haring. Don't forget - these works won't be coming home with your students, but they will be held in portfolios at school for the spring Open House!
Keith Haring was an artist who rose to fame in the early 1980s. He is well known for his large, colorful works using bold, confident lines and simplistic-seeming shapes. His style was considered pop art, and came from the graffiti subculture of New York City.
