Prayer
Prayer to Our Lady of Sorrows
O most holy and afflicted Virgin! Queen of Martyrs! thou who didst stand motionless beneath the Cross, witnessing the agony of thy expiring Son--through the unceasing sufferings of thy life of sorrow, and the bliss which now more than amply repays thee for thy past trials, look down with a mother's tenderness and pity on me, who kneel before thee to venerate thy dolors, and place my requests, with filial confidence, in the sanctuary of thy wounded heart; present them, I beseech thee, on my behalf, to Jesus Christ, through the merits of His own most sacred death and passion, together with thy sufferings at the foot of the cross, and through the united efficacy of both obtain the grant of my present petition. To whom shall I resort in my wants and miseries if not to thee, O Mother of Mercy, who, having so deeply drunk of the chalice of thy Son, canst compassionate the woes of those who still sigh in the land of exile? Offer for me to my Savior one drop of the Blood which flowed from His sacred veins, one of the tears which trickled from His divine eyes, one of the sighs which rent His adorable Heart. O refuge of the universe and hope of the whole world, do not reject my humble prayer, but graciously obtain the grant of my petition.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Friday Mass
Tomorrow we will begin our new weekly Mass schedule as ALL STUDENTS and staff celebrate with the parish at the Friday 8am Mass.
Please drop your child at church between 7:50 – 7:55. Teachers will be at church to greet the students. Morning Extended Care students will be escorted to church. Please do not drop off students at the church after 8:00am as we do not want to interrupt the mass. All students that arrive after 8:00am will need to be dropped off at the main school entrance on Miller Avenue. Parents are welcome, of course, to stay for Mass with the students.
Festival
The Parish Festival will be happening over the Columbus Day weekend, and the sign ups are now closed. If you didn't sign up for an activity an activity will be assigned to you by the festival committee. Once we receive the festival assignment list, we will post it on our school website. We are also helping out by collecting 2-liter sodas and water. 2-liter sodas and water can be brought to the Parish Office.
Please direct all enquires to the parish festival organizers at ssfallsoulsfestival@yahoo.com
Save the Children
The "Save the Children" project is our annual collection of clothes, shoes, backpacks, medical supplies, toothpaste and brushes, notepads, pencils, and crayons over the next few weeks during September. All items collected will be shipped to Guatemala and distributed to needy children in the outmost regions of the country. The villages to which we contribute were gravely affected by the volcano eruption in June, so we are trying to replace much that was lost. This will be our fourth year with this project, and our contributions are needed now more than ever. We thank you, in advance, for your support.
God Bless,

Miss J's Journal
"It takes a village to raise a child."
This well-known proverb brings to mind the fact that it takes teamwork to raise and educate children, especially in today’s fast-paced media-influenced world. You, as parents, are the primary educators of your children. We, at school, are here to support you in that role.
I hope, in what is year three of this journal, to continue to bring you insights into some of the common issues that may affect your children at different grade levels. What is developmentally appropriate for my child’s age? What is different at this grade level? Are other children doing these same things?
Do I know all the answers? Of course not. But I am happy to share what I’ve heard, seen, and learned over my many years at All Souls. Working together we can create, as stated in our school philosophy, “a spirit of understanding and cooperation in which teachers, students, and parents can grow and learn together.”
All the best,
Miss J
