The Gayman Pumpkin Patch!
Halloween Parade Route
The Halloween parade will be on Monday, October 31st at 9:00AM. Parking will be limited. If possible, please consider carpooling. (Rain date: Tuesday, Nov. 1st. If the parade is postponed, the decision will be made by 4:00PM on Sunday, and communicated via email.)
Students will walk out of the front building (near the flagpole) and parade on our sidewalk around the school. After reaching Burnt House Hill Road, they will turn and walk to the back playground and re-enter the building by the gymnasium. NOTE: We will walk the parade route twice.
Kindergarten students will lead the parade, followed consecutively by the other grades.
Students are welcome to wear their costumes to school. Please have your child bring their masks and/or accessories to school in a bag with your child's name on the bag. Please use your best judgement in costume selection. Costumes of a violent nature are discouraged. There should be no weapons of any kind brought to school on Halloween.
Kindergarten Parade Plans
October 31st is a half-day of school. AM kindergarten attends.
All PM Kindergarten students are invited to participate in the outdoor parade. Please bring your child to the entrance under the large Gayman Elementary School sign, in front of the school, by 8:45AM. Mrs. Feher will bring the PM class to Mrs. Kuhn's room where they will lead the parade. Please pick up your child after the parade at the drop-off location.
Halloween Parties
Parents who are volunteering should enter through the doors under the Gayman Elementary School sign. This will be the only open doors. There will be preprinted visitors' badges. We appreciate your help in providing a SAFE and enjoyable experience for the entire Gayman community.
If you are assisting with the classroom party at the end of the school day and choose to take your child home with you at dismissal, we ask that you sign them out in their classroom with their homeroom teacher.

Looking to Make a Difference?
Bridge Valley Elementary in Furlong is looking for parents who are interested in full time employment as Personal Care Assistants for students with autism. Personal Care Assistants are paired with specific students and work as part of a team of staff members in special education classrooms. This fulltime position offers employees with competitive pay and full benefits that include healthcare and prescription coverage.
If you are interested, email Mr. Kevin Cochran at kcochran@cbsd.org. Please introduce yourself, include your resume, and tell him you are a CB elementary school parent or guardian. We look forward to hearing from you!
Veteran Guest Speakers: Nov. 11th
To mark this special day, we are hosting "Veteran Class Speakers". Any veteran, or someone currently serving in the military, is invited to speak to a class. The time of the presentation will be determined by the teacher and speaker.
A 20-minute presentation would include:
- A description of your military job/responsibilities
- A favorite memory from your service
- Questions from the students
Ideally, we need 20 veterans. NOTE: While we will make every effort to match you with your child's (grandchild's) class, you may be speaking to a different class. Email Jennifer Costello at jcostello@cbsd.org, if you are interested before November 4th.
To all of our veterans - thank you for your service!
Thank you for your support!
The GHSA Scholastic Book Fair and Apparel sale were a huge success! Thank you!
Some of the proceeds from the Book Fair and the Apparel sale were utilized to purchase and replace 30 sets of headphones for the library. Students use these headphones for assessments and class projects. The GHSA also purchased a retractable green screen for the Pop-Up Classroom. Parents - thank you for generously supporting our GHSA events!
Dine & Donate
THANK YOU to all the Gayman families and friends who dined in or carried out at Lucatelli's Pizzeria last week to support a local business and to support our Home and School Association.
Together, we are supporting local businesses and making a difference at Gayman!
Fall Family Fest
Friday is right around the corner.
We look forward to seeing all of the families who RSVP'd for this event on Friday, October 28th from 6pm-8pm. Get ready for some fall fun!
Kids Care Club - November
Our second in-person Kids Care Club meeting is happening on Monday, November 7th, from 3:30 to 4:45 in the library. We'll be working with a local organization called Wrapping Presence, which helps local senior citizens shop for and give gifts during the holidays. Our KCC members will be learning more about this special mission as well as decorating shopping bags for the seniors to use.
Please note: This event is much smaller than the last KCC meeting, due to the nature of the project and the space we're working in. If you're unable to attend or if the event fills up quickly, there will be other ways for you to help — and of course more KCC meetings in the months to come! Thank you so much for your help!

Please considering taking a few moments to read over and answer our survey (it's short and sweet!) — it will help us figure out if there's enough student interest and parent volunteers to make it happen. Thank you!
