Reflections from the Principal's Office
As we head into our third month of school there is a lot to reflect on, but more importantly there is a lot to be proud of. Working in a high school is tough. It does not matter the position, it is a tough job, but it is the most amazing job one could ever have. I want to take a minute and publicly say how proud I am of our staff.
I also want to recognize our amazing students! It has been a privilege to interact with the students of CERHS on a daily basis. Whether is it hanging out with them in the hallways or working side by side with students, it has really been a pleasure getting to know their unique personalities. Families, be proud of your students! They are doing a great job!
Honoring our Veterans
Our Veteran's Day assembly is a time to remember the brave men and women who serve our country. We invite you to join us on Thursday, Nov. 10th, 1-2PM @ Walter Strom Middle School Gymnasium. We are kindly asking all staff, students, and presenters to dress in Red, White, and Blue. WSMS Gym Entrance Doors open at 12:00 PM.
On To State!
We will be having a CERHS style state send off for soccer on Wednesday, Nov. 9th @ 1:30 PM. Warrior Soccer vs. Davenport will be held at CERHS at 4:00 PM.
Come out and cheer on our Warrior Soccer Team for the state championship!
This is the State tournament so there will be a gate admission, $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and students. Students with ASB Cards still must pay the $7 for entry.
GO WARRIORS!
Warrior Athletics Update
As we wrap up our fall athletics season, we want to give a huge shout out to our athletes and coaches. The Warriors gave it their all and left everything they had on the field/court. We are so proud of every single one of you!
- Winter sports begin Monday, November 14th. If you have any questions please contact Peggy, Hailey, or your coach.
- The Athletic Department has started using a student-safe application called SportsYou for team communication. This application is user-friendly, allows for quick updates and is an easy way to see practice and game schedules. This sends notifications directly to the SportsYou application and hopefully lessens the chances of time sensitive information getting lost in your email inbox. Reach out to your student-athlete's coach for their team code to get started! We will still be using FinalForms for all things registration, medical, academic, as well as updates from your Athletic Director.
Thanksgiving Week Events & Food Drive (organized by ASB)
Our second annual Thanksgiving Linner is Tuesday, November 22nd (at lunch in the gym). The kitchen is serving up a wonderful Thanksgiving meal. Thank you to our own Hollie Stone from our Food Services Dept. (normal student/staff lunch rates apply).
ASB will also be serving us pies from The Cottage, at no additional charge - Thank you ASB!
We look forward to this week's dress up days, events, activities, and assembly after our Thanksgiving Linner.
Monday: Throwback to Elementary! Dress like what you wanted to be in Elementary School. We may have some ballerinas, rockstars or vets. Mr. Chase will be coming up for our second annual Pizza th the prinicpal, serving free pizza.
Tuesday: is Duo Day. Find a friend and dress like ketchup and mustard, salt and pepper, or another creative option! Or think of a creative way to be a duo yourself!
Wednesday: is dress like the first letter of your name. Lets see how creative we are warriors! If your name is Grace you can dress like a grape or gorilla. Looking forward to a fun week!
WINTER WEATHER
Winter has made an appearance! Huge shoutout to our Facilities and Maintenance crew who work around the clock to clean up our parking lots and sidewalks while it snows throughout the night. We are so grateful for their hard work and dedication to ensure everyone's safety.
We have several student drivers who may be new to driving in winter conditions. Please encourage your students to get an earlier start by warming up their vehicles and allowing themselves extra time to travel safely to school.
Here is additional information regarding potential school closures and delays:
