SMCPS is offering another substitute teacher class in December. Many schools, including MBMS, are in need of substitutes on a daily basis. If you are interested or know someone who may be, please consider signing up for the class today. This class would also be good for college students who may be coming home during their winter break. Substitute Teacher Class

The vision and hearing screenings of all 8th-grade students will begin at the end of

November 29-December 17. All students will be given a letter to bring home indicating the results of the screening (pass or not passed). Our schools are heavily impacted with federally-connected students – those parents/guardians who work on federal property in Maryland, live on federal property in Maryland, and/or are active duty military personnel. Because of this impact, we receive federal grant funds to operate and maintain our schools and enrich school programs. To receive these funds, the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) requires us to survey each student to determine eligibility.

SMCPS is encouraging all parents/guardians to please take the time to access and complete the Impact Aid Survey Form online, located in the Home Access Center (HAC). Once logged in, directions to access the online form can be found HERE. A video with instructions is available HERE. The form can now be accessed in Spanish by clicking on the Globe in the top right-hand corner once the form has been started. The deadline for the online submission of Impact Aid Program Survey forms is December 15, 2021.

The SMCPS Calendar Committee is seeking input in the development of the 2022-2023 school year calendar. Please respond to this Calendar Survey to provide your input.

The 6th Grade Team is excited to announce the return of the MBMS Holiday Bazaar! Come join us on December 4th for a festive day with vendors, crafters, door prizes, silent auction, baked goods and food, a tree auction, as well as pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

The MTSS committee is excited to announce that the Margaret Brent Masks have arrived and are for sale. What better way to show your school spirit than with a mask?

The cost for each mask is $12 or 2 for $20-- what a deal!
