Sports Information
Unexcused Absences
Unexcused Absences
Welcome back! We pray you have had a restful and blessed winter break.
As we continue the new year, here are a few reminders to keep in mind…
- School begins at 8:20 am, and you are considered tardy if you arrive after 8:30. You must obtain a tardy slip in the office.
- Absences are considered excused when a doctor’s note is provided. When no doctor’s note is presented, the absence is considered unexcused. Students will be accountable for all classwork, homework, and notes taken when absent. If by chance, a quiz, exam, or project is scheduled, the student must complete the task within 24-48 hours of being back. Not being in school is not an excuse for not taking a scheduled test.
- Grades are final when report cards are published at the end of the quarter. Important dates to note:
Quarter 2 ends Thursday, January 26th
Report Cards will be sent home on Feb 3
Quarter 3 begins Monday, January 30th
Quarter 3 ends Friday, March 24th
- Please plan vacation days accordingly so students do not miss crucial learning. The school cannot be held accountable for grades that reflect a student who misses school consistently.
- Attendance: In accordance with Archdiocesan policy, a student who has been absent fifteen (15) or more days in a quarter will not be issued a report card and must attend summer school. If a child is absent more than thirty (30) or more days during the school year will be retained in the same grade because you have not met the requirements for that grade. The County Board of Education may require principals to report the severance of attendance by any student.
Ausencias Injustificadas

Counseling Partners of Los Angeles (CPLA)
Once again, the school will be offering a comprehensive school-based counseling program and support services at no additional cost for this service. Parents, teachers, staff, or students themselves can request to see a counselor. An informed consent form needs to be signed by the parent/guardian to begin the process. A signed informed consent form is NOT a request/referral for counseling. However, getting the parental signature ahead of time speeds up the process for our counselors to begin providing counseling to our students. Counselor Jacquline Salvador will be working with us.
This service will begin on Monday, September 12.
