CMEA Weekly

Thanks to everyone who joined our PTO meeting this week! If you missed it, you can catch all the notes from the meeting HERE, as well as our slide deck with potential school improvements HERE. Some of the highlights include:

• With our pool of funds (and based on feedback/recent pricing research), we are planning to move forward with these exciting projects:
• Installing a taller sports fence around the turf to keep balls and kids from going into the adjacent street.
• Adding a new piece (or pieces) of playground equipment to replace the one that was removed.
• Replacing the gym flooring!
• Our spring fundraiser will be contributing funds toward these awesome projects. Of course, if you have any questions or would like any more information, feel free to reach out! Email us at cmeapto@gmail.com.
• We were also notified by the company hosting our STEAM assembly that they need to postpone our assembly date. They are providing us a discount for the inconvenience, and the new STEAM assembly date is April 17th. We still need volunteers to make this event fun and run smoothly for our students. • Join us February 13th @ 7 p.m. for our next PTO meeting, where we will review grant requests from teachers and staff for things like field trips, assemblies, fun projects, etc.!

Spring Fundraiser planning is underway, and we need your help! We are looking for donations of auction items, such as sporting tickets (Broncos, Rockies, Rapids, etc.), VRBO rentals, etc. If your family has a connection, or you know of a local business owner that may have a connection, and would be interested in a tax-deductible donation to CME, please let us know! Please share your fun CME moments with our Copper Mesa Yearbook Committee at coppermesayearbook@gmail.com to help us create the most memorable yearbook. We would love to see photos from Spirit Rocks, Field Trips, Class Parties, Watch D.O.G.S., or anything else you've captured. Be sure to include your student’s grade and teacher with each submission.

We are able to do so many events and fundraisers for our school because of the wonderful volunteers we have. If you are interested in helping our efforts, please let us know by completing our online form and indicating the areas you would like to help us with this year: Volunteer Form.

Watch D.O.G.S. is a program that gives dads the opportunity to spend either a half or whole day in the building with their children. You will help in classrooms and go to lunch and recess with your child.

The purpose of the program:

1. To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is essential.
2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. All dads are encouraged to be a Watch D.O.G.S. Dad at least once a year.

Got a knack for party planning? Love reaching out to local businesses? Looking to get your hands dirty (We know for a fact there are some interested dads out there!)?

We are always looking for volunteers for Teacher/Staff Appreciation, our Daughter Event, our Son Event, School Beautification, our Spring Fundraiser, etc. If you would like to volunteer with CMEA in any way, please let us know.

COPPER MESA YEARBOOK

Help us create a memorable yearbook by sharing your pictures with our yearbook committee. This can be at school events, the Spirit Rock, class parties, class field trips, school clubs, etc. Please email photos to coppermesayearbook@gmail.com and include your child’s name and teacher.

KING SOOPERS CARDS

One of our biggest and easiest fundraisers has proven to be King Soopers Cards. In just over a year, our total donation received is typically in excess of $15,000. If you haven’t registered your rewards number (phone number) yet, please do so. It’s quick and easy and a great way to earn funds for our school. This money helps us to pay for teacher and school grants and host some of our events.

1. Visit kingsooperscommunityrewards.com.
2. Sign in or register with your King Soopers card or phone number.
3. Click on Enroll.
4. Search by school code (AB638) or organization name (Copper Mesa Elementary School - CMEA).

RENT THE ROCK!

Don’t forget to reserve the Spirit Rock for your special dates! Sign up HERE for the date you need and submit payment through MySchoolBucks or drop off cash/checks at the front office.

**Please remember: Reservations do not begin until 4:00 pm the day prior to your reservation. Rock painting should not begin prior to 4:00 p.m. We appreciate your cooperation.**

We are collecting Longmont Dairy Milk Caps again this year. There is a box near the front office desk where you can deposit them. Thank you!

Customizable Spirit Wear is always available at Schmancy Tees and Gifts. Orders take about two weeks and are delivered right to your child’s classroom.
