Girls Inc of New York has been a beacon of empowerment and education at the High School for Service and Learning. Through their generous support and a small grant, they have ignited a transformative initiative in the form of a lunchtime cosmetology club. Every Friday during the 6th period lunch, students gather in room 1E5 to delve into the world of makeup, henna art, and self-esteem building.
This program serves as a platform for young women to explore their creativity and self-expression while fostering self-confidence. Girls Inc's commitment to nurturing the holistic development of these students is evident as they blend beauty education with empowerment, emphasizing the significance of self-esteem. In this nurturing environment, participants not only learn cosmetic skills but also discover their inner strength and self-worth.
The Girls Inc cosmetology club at the High School for Service and Learning is not just about makeup and henna; it's about nurturing the beauty within and helping young women realize their full potential. This endeavor is a testament to the power of community and mentorship in shaping the future of these students.
Focus was creating their own henna stencil with the intention to do their design on someone else as practice
