Kia ora e te whānau,
Happy New Year to you all! Welcome back to our children, whanau and friends. It is so lovely to see our children back at school, with happy smiles and lots of excitement to see old and new friends!
We would also like to welcome Oscar Curry and welcome back Luca Turner-Menzies who have joined the Ngā Whetū Team. And a big welcome to Nia Badenhorst who has joined Awhi Class this year. We are so happy to have you all at Spring Creek School.
Spring Creek School is open for children from 8am until 3.30pm. We can provide breakfast if needed. We are also very fortunate to continue to be part of the Ka Ora, Ka Ako Healthy lunches scheme and all children will receive a free tasty and nutritious lunch each day. If your child has any dietary restrictions, please ensure you let Ness know if you haven’t already done so.
Our whole school hui celebration is on Tuesday mornings on even weeks from 9-9.30am. Our first Hui will be in Week 4. All whanau are welcome to attend and you will be notified if your child is presenting at hui or if they are receiving a hui award.
We are looking for support with Road Patrol this year. If you are able to help or would like to know more information, please see me. The times will be from 2.50 pm until approx 3.15pm. Any support would be amazing!
Next week, our students will be participating in Fundamental Skills at the Stadium from Wednesday to Friday. A notice came home yesterday, please see Ness if you haven’t received one.
We would like to invite our children, whanau and friends to a whanau evening on Thursday 15 February from 5-6pm. This will be an opportunity to meet with the teachers and look through the learning spaces. We will be sending out a notice next week.
In the stationery packs, you should have received our whanau information booklet, if you haven’t received one, pop in and pick one up from the office. Coming home with the newsletter this week is our Netsafe agreement for whanau and children to sign, a contact details form and our Setting Up for Success form to be completed and returned to school. If you need any support of have any questions, please get in touch with myself or Ness.
Have a wonderful week ahead.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Cheryl Alderlieste
