Greeting!

1. Thank you for supporting Willowdale at Don & Millie's Night this week!

2. So many of our families have so generously donated to our snack cart for next week - thank you!

3. Thank you for supporting our 5th grade end-of-the-year celebration through our Candy Cane Grams!!

4. Please read this edition for a lot of important information, including updates on construction on 168th st.!

5. We will not have a newsletter next week, but we will send out reminders about winter break. Next Wednesday, 12/20 is the last day for students in 2023!

Have a wonderful weekend with your families!

1. I would encourage your school families to use the crosswalk at 168th & Q St. The project cannot close the crosswalk north of 168th & P due to commitments made tied to the project’s federal funding, but the crosswalk at 168th & Q St. would allow children to avoid construction activity.
2. For children/families that choose to continue to use the 168th & P crosswalk, please encourage them to follow project signing. See below for a diagram of the designated pedestrian route. The existing sidewalk along the east side of 168th St will soon be removed.
3. Our contractor has put out cones/barrels to delineate the pedestrian path along the east side of 168th St so it is more apparent where pedestrians are supposed to be walking.
4. There may be an issue with accessing the crosswalk pushbutton on the east side of the street since it is located in the construction zone where the existing sidewalk is being removed. We’re working on a solution to this.

The MPS Algebra Aptitude Assessment will be given to 5th Graders on January 9th.

The PTO is a great way to meet other parents, find out about PTO sponsored events and volunteer on several event committees. By joining and/or being a volunteer, you are working with other parents and teachers/staff members, to help enrich the educational experience for all students.
