News From the Band Room

Hi Folks - The ELCO Raider Band had a good opening performance this past Friday night at West York! I was very pleased with the attentiveness to the game and their improvement on what we have been working on. We will be rehearsing marching band Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during period 4.

This week our football game is scheduled for THURSDAY night at home against A-C. Report time for Thursday will be 5:30pm, Inspection at 5:45pm, and departure for the stadium at 6:00pm. Students should go home after school and return at the 5:30 report time.

I realize that there are some conflicts with other sporting events on Thursday as well as some games later on in the season. Students may not be able to make the band bus departure time. What we have done in the past is have parents transport their athletes or carpool with other parents to the football game. As long as band members are there before our performance at halftime, that is fine. Even if they need to march in their sports uniform.

We will be wearing our full uniforms this Thursday. The high temperature is not supposed to reach 80 degrees and it looks to be around 60 degrees at game time. Please make sure your child wears their field show T-shirt under their uniform, has long black socks to wear, their black Dinkle shoes, and gloves. The rest of their uniforms should be in the closets at school.

Drumline rehearsals will continue on Thursday nights from 6:30pm-8:30pm throughout the season.
