WELCOME TO THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR!
A Note from Principal Reilly
Welcome to the 2023- 2024 School year. I am thrilled to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all our students and families.
The start of this school year has been incredibly positive, with our dedicated staff working diligently to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment. Our halls are buzzing with energy and anticipation, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have your children as a part of our Hamline Community. We believe in the potential of each child and are excited to see them flourish in our classrooms.
I am genuinely looking forward to the adventures and discoveries that this school year will bring. Together, we will make it a year filled with growth, learning, and memories. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education, and for being an integral part of our school community.
In Partnership,
Kristin Reilly
Counselor’s Corner: A Note from Ms. Nelson
I am happy to be back at Hamline Elementary for my 3rd year during the 2023-24 school year. I am here to help provide your student(s) with a safe and friendly environment where they can learn and grow. Over the course of the year, I will be teaching in the classrooms around the topics of academics, social emotional learning and college and career readiness. Please feel free to reach out if there is anything that I can do to support you and your student(s) throughout the school year at annette.nelson@spps.org or 651-744-8220
Attendance:
The school year is off to a great start and one of the ways you can support your students' education is through helping them build habits of good attendance. Research shows that missing as little as 2 days a month, over the course of a year can make it more difficult to learn to read. Please know that the school is here to support your efforts to getting your children to school, reach out to the teacher, the social worker or the school counselor with any questions or concerns.
Coffee with the Principal
Coffee with the Principal is a chance to chat with Principal Reilly, ask questions about the school and your child, and learn about what we are up to at Hamline Elementary. We schedule these monthly, usually on a Friday at 9:30.
The first Coffee with the Principal is October 6th from 9:30-10:15 in the Family Room (Room 1103).
This month, we will talk about our Family Engagement Plan (FEP) for 2023-24, answer questions, and talk about the first month of school.
The 2023-24 FEP can be viewed here.
Ms. Lee's First Grade class admires the family pictures in our lobby. We will keep adding and updating these throughout the year.
Ms. Douglas's Second Grade class has posted students' "Who am I" self portraits outside the classroom.
First day of school!
Extended Day Learning (EDL) at Hamline begins October 23rd
**UPDATE** Extended Day Learning (EDL) will have busses this year!
