Scorpion Scoop
February 11, 2024
A Message from Principal Hann
Scorpion Families,
Happy Super Bowl Sunday! It poses to be an exciting game, so enjoy!
Our StudentVUE login server connection was repaired, and students can now log in to check their grades! Progress Reports for mid quarter were posted Friday. Please check in with your child about their grades and reach out if you have any questions.
We will continue our rotation this week for Edge Extension. This is the perfect chance for your child to work with his/her teacher on challenging concepts or determine missing work. The RTI system is nearly ready and finished updating. The site is accessible to all users, but there are still aspects that are being cleaned up and improved. Any emails from this system should be ignored for now, and you should not expect to run RTI using this site until 2/22 unless directed otherwise.
This semester, our staff has been focused on improving student attendance. We cannot do this alone. Your involvement and commitment to your child's education helps us to foster a culture of consistent attendance. Together we need to establish a positive and supportive environment at home that contributes to your child's enthusiasm for school. We need your help to empower your child to take responsibility for their education, including attending school regularly. We ask that you discuss the importance of attendance and its direct link to academic success, helping them understand the long-term benefits of consistent participation.
Let’s join forces to emphasize a culture of regular attendance. By working collaboratively, we can create an environment that promotes not only academic achievement and overall success of each student. If you have any concerns or questions related to attendance, please feel free to reach out to us. Your partnership is key to making this academic year a successful and enriching experience for your child.
Have a great week!

Youth4Youth and the Way Out West Coalition (WOW Coalition)
Dear Parents and Community Members,
The Way Out West Coalition and Youth4Youth had an overwhelming response to last year’s Community Views Survey. We have each of you to thank for that!
Over the past year, we have been working on multiple initiatives that address fentanyl, counterfeit pills, underage drinking, youth marijuana use, and vaping in our schools and community. It is important to gather the views and perceptions of those who live and work in our community regarding these substances as we work together to prevent youth substance use in our teens.
The survey can be completed from your smartphone, tablet, or computer and takes less than eight minutes. The survey is anonymous and will not ask for any personal data. Please complete the general demographic information at the end if you would be kind enough. Buckeye is a truly diverse community, and we want to ensure we are helping all youth reach their potential.
