Important November Dates
November 22nd-24th: Thanksgiving Recess~No School
November 27th-December 1st: Book Fair Week
November Character Theme~Gratitude
Potter Road's November character theme is gratitude. Gratitude is reflecting on the people, things, and places that we appreciate. Over the course of the month of November, our students will be engaged in social/emotional lessons that focus on this theme through read aloud's, interactive lessons, and videos.
Attached you will find a caregiver resource guide for families to engage in further activities or readings in the home environment.
Communication from Potter Road Room Parents
Room parents will be reaching out through email shortly to introduce themselves as a resource for our teachers. To opt-out of future email communications from your child's room parents, please compete the form below. This will remove you from important information about the class, upcoming events and opportunities to volunteer as part of the school community.
Student ID Cards for Breakfast and Lunch
All students will continue to have access to free breakfast and lunch each school day. Starting this past week, students have begun using their own unique student identification number when getting breakfast and/or lunch. This number is found on their student identification cards that are distributed to all students. The purpose of this is to ensure that when a student is getting breakfast and/or lunch, they are not receiving food that they might have an allergy to. When a student scans their card or enters their identification number, any documented food allergies will be alerted to our dining hall staff, who will then offer safe alternatives.
All students have two identification cards that were provided to them at the beginning of the school year. One card was secured to their backpacks. As students enter into the cafeteria in the morning to get breakfast, this is the card that should be used. If a student does not have their card, their information can be looked up by our cafeteria staff. Having the card ready for breakfast helps the process move along quickly and efficiently for all students. Students were reminded to have their cards ready for breakfast.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found area has reached capacity! We have a large amount of jackets, sweatshirts, hats, lunchboxes, and water bottles. Please encourage your child to check the lost and found for missing items. We will be removing the items in lost and found at the Thanksgiving break. Thank you.
Scholastic Book Fair~November 27th-December 1st
Potter Road's Scholastic Book Fair is fast approaching! The book fair will be held from Monday, November 27th-Friday, December 1st. Students will have the opportunity to shop throughout the week, as well as attend a reading and shopping night on Thursday, November 30th.
We need the help of our wonderful caregivers to make this event happen! We appreciate caregivers clicking on the link provided and volunteering to help. Thank you.
