What a journey our eighth graders have been on during the beginning of their educational journey. Whether they have been here their entire time or just joined us, they all have experienced education during a global pandemic. They will have stories to share with future generations and these experiences will make them better prepared for their future work. It has taught them compassion, patience, hard work, selflessness, dedication, and gratefulness. I will never forget this amazing group of students they were given an opportunity to be loyal and they all chose to stay at Holy Cross. Thank you for choosing Holy Cross as we feel so blessed to have been able to spend this time with you. You have accomplished so much! It is time to go celebrate! Congratulations, Class of 2023!


Dear Parents of the Graduates,

We give you back your child, the same child you confidently entrusted to our care when you first arrived at Holy Cross. We give them back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature than they were then.


Although they would have attained their growth in spite of us, it has been our pleasure and privilege to watch their personality unfold day by day, year by year, and marvel at this splendid miracle of development.


We give them back reluctantly, for having spent from one year to nine years together in the narrow confines of a crowded classroom and school building, we have grown

close, have become a part of each other, and we shall always retain a little of each other.

We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, prayed, and enriched our lives together over the years. We wish it could go on indefinitely, but give them back we must. Take care of them, for they are precious.


Remember that we shall always be interested in your child and their destiny, wherever they go, whatever they do, whoever they become. Their joys and sorrows we will always be happy to share.

Staff Announcements

We pride ourselves on being a family and that is why it makes it so much more difficult to say goodbye to our staff members each year. This never gets easier, so I will continue to say, this is not goodbye, but we will see you soon.


Miss Gabby Asher has been a real trooper these past three years. She was a brand new teacher when we gave her the enormous task of teaching students virtually and on-site. I continuously thought to myself how difficult that would have been to start my first year of teaching with so many challenges. Miss Asher rose to the occasion and did a fantastic job. We will never forget her kind and gentle spirit without Little Hornets. We wish you all the best in your new position at a public school teaching first graders! They are blessed to have you!


Mrs. Tubbert is an amazing teacher with many years of experience. She has the kindest spirit and is one of the most flexible teachers I have ever met. She taught kindergarten, first, and second graders here at Holy Cross and touched the lives of so many. She always managed her class with grace and kindness. Our primary hallway will not be the same without her. We are so grateful for all your years of service at Holy Cross. We wish you well on your new adventure as you return to Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools to enrich the lives of many in their gifted education program.


Miss Anderson has been the heart of Holy Cross for so many years and I cannot imagine driving by our school and her black bug with the "Book It" license plate not being there. She has built our library book by book, ran the William Allen White Club, chaperoned students to Washington DC, was CYO gym manager, taught technology, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades, Ozbots, coding, Lego Briq, and Robotics, broadcasting and so much more that I know I am forgetting. It is safe to say there will be a huge void at Holy Cross next year. We are so happy for you that are returning to your first school East Antioch fulfilling your dream of just being a librarian. You will be missed tremendously.
