TIPS Journal May 23, 2021
keeping our families in the school loop
Greetings from Tokyo International Progressive School
The remaining activities in the school year have been added while cautiously watching the government advisories and meanwhile working with facilities we use outside of the school. Which is to say, everything is subject to change!
Our three-week summer school program will be held in the new campus beginning June 28. If you would like your child to review the previous grade or prepare for the next grade, we will work with him or her on an individual basis.
You may read more about our summer program and register here.
We welcome all returning and new families to an Open House at our new campus on Friday, June 25 at 2 p.m. Please come to see our interior. We can't promise to be completely unpacked and settled, but do want to invite you to see the school before some of you will be traveling for the summer. The Open House will simply be a tour of the new campus and a drink of cold tea. I will be on hand to answer questions. In order to avoid overly crowded conditions, you will be asked around June 1 to register for the Open House. If a great number of families want to attend, we may have to stagger arrival times in order to prevent overcrowding.
This will be the last issue of the TIPS Journal you receive this academic year. Thank you so much for all the positive feedback!
As usual, any questions, please ask.
Sincerely,
Lyn Sato
TIPS Principal

The school is indebted Ms. Carmen Hackworth and Ms. Asami Yamazaki for the leadership provided to the PSA this year. Thank you so much for the constant thoughtfulness, including the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast promised for May 28.
A huge thank you to those who have expressed interest in leadership in our PSA next year. Ms. Iris Yamanaka has let me know her fantastic ideas on how to continue to build community with our families while providing some fun and fundraising at school.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, each of our grade levels will be represented by a parent in the PSA. This will provide for improved communication and support for the organization. I will continue to attend meetings with a principal's report.
