Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
I can't believe this is the last newsletter of the 2022-2023 school year. It has been a wonderful year! We are so proud of the way your children have grown academically, socially and emotionally this year. It has been our pleasure to partner with you to make this happen. Our staff feel fortunate to work in a community that values education.
Thanks to Mr. Shaffer, Mrs. Morrison, our entire staff and many parent volunteers for an amazing Field Day. The nice weather, time with friends and fun activities made for a memorable day.
On June 1st, we will have our fifth grade clap out. On their last time leaving Lions Park, we do a "clap out". Students and staff line the hallways and the students do a last walk through the halls of Lions Park as students. They exit at 3:20 to the courtyard where parents usually gather to congratulate them. Families are welcome to make signs or posters and take pictures of their children and their friends. Fifth grade families are welcome to join!
Students and teachers worked hard this year. Please help maintain skills this summer by encouraging your child to read each day. Summer can also be a good time to practice math facts using flashcards or online practice. Finally, your child may want to consider keeping a journal or writing postcards/letters to keep writing.
We hope you enjoy the different pace of summer with your children out of school. Whether you stay in town all summer or travel to an exciting destination, we wish you a healthy, happy and safe summer. If your family will not be back at Lions Park next year due to promotion to Lincoln or a move, we wish you all the best. We look forward to seeing the rest of you and your children on our first day of school, August 17th!
Warmly,
Katie Kelly
End of Year Medication Pick Up
If your child has medication in the health office:
Please plan to pick up your child’s medication at the end of the day on your child’s last day of attendance. All medications not picked up by the end of the school year will be destroyed. Medical paperwork that needs to be completed for the next school year was sent home in the backpack on May 1st. We appreciate your assistance with picking up your child’s medication.
Please contact the health office for any questions.
