PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Greetings Darby Families!

A HUGE thank you to all the parents who attended parent-teacher conferences last week! We had a great turnout and it was so nice to see parents and siblings in person again! If you were not able to attend conferences and need to talk to a teacher please email them directly to set up a time by phone or in person. All teacher emails can be found using the staff directory on our website. Remember that you can always check your student's grades using Schoology and Home Access Center. If you need help with either of these two resources please call the front office.

This week is enrichment and club week during 3rd period SWAG time. All students will get the opportunity to choose a unique and fun session being offered by our teachers. Some of the choices include Disc Golf, Trivia, Chess, Card Games, Breakout Rooms, Minute to Win It, Halloween Creatures, Health Science Occupations and much more! Students are excited to try new things and I will make sure to take lots of pictures and share with you.

This week is also national Red Ribbon Week. The theme this year is "Drug Free Looks Like Me". This theme is a reminder that everyday our students can make significant daily contributions to our school and community by being the best they can be because they live drug free! We will have activities throughout this week planned for our students to celebrate this healthy way of life. Check out the spirit days below!

Darby Yearbooks Available for Pre-sale

The cost is $15.00 and can be paid to Ms. Thomas (Room 222) or Ms. Rogers (323). Yearbooks will arrive in early May of 2022. If you would prefer to purchase on-line, please go to https://yearbookforever.com and enter Darby in the school name.

Missing school changes lives...and not in a good way

Sooner or later, every teen will stumble out of bed and whine, "Do I have to do school today?" Your answer can be short and simple: "Yes." Students who often miss school earn lower grades than those who attend regularly. They may not learn the foundation skills needed to understand the next unit's material. What's more, they don't develop the responsible habits that will make them successful in life.

How to Check Your Student's Grades

Progress reports and parent Schoology codes were sent home with students on Monday, September 20th. Please contact individual teachers if you have a question about a course grade. Teacher emails can be found on our school website. Teachers are always available for phone or in-person conferences. Parents can check student grades on a daily basis throughout the school year using Schoology. This is a great resource provided by our district! If you need help accessing your student's grades please call the office to speak with a counselor or principal.
