Spring ISD Parents/Guardians, Students, Staff and Community:
Two instructional calendar options have been developed for the 2024-25 school year, and the district is seeking your input before a recommendation is presented to the Board of Trustees.
The two calendar options presented for next school year were reviewed and endorsed by the district’s Advisory Committee on Education (ACE).
Both calendar options have a proposed start date of Aug. 14, with the last day of school for students on May 30. Calendar Option A allows for a weeklong Fall Break for teachers and students from Oct. 14 through Oct. 18, and Calendar Option B allows for a Fall Break for teachers from Oct. 16 through Oct. 18 and a weeklong Fall Break for students from Oct. 14 through Oct. 18. Calendar Option A allows for teachers to begin on Aug. 5 and end on June 3 and Calendar Option B allows for teachers to begin on Aug. 6 and end on June 2.
Both calendar options include Campus Advisory Committee (CAC) designed days. No students will be in attendance on these days, however staff will engage in campus professional development and high priority campus needs as identified by the Campus Advisory Committee.
Both calendar options include two additional early release days for high school students only, to support final exams. This means high schoolers will have one additional day over the required number of minutes. In the event that it is needed, the district will recoup the additional early release days for make-up days. If additional minutes are needed, high school students may be required to make up a day, either during one of the allotted make-up days, or at the end of the year.
Additionally, both calendar options prioritize maximizing student instruction, embed professional development for teachers, and include days during the year for parent-teacher conferences. Both options include two half-days of instruction before the Winter Break and the end of school year.
The 2024-25 Instructional Calendar Survey is located on the Spring ISD website at www.SpringISD.org/CalendarSurvey. Please review both options closely and select your preferred calendar by Wednesday, Nov. 29.
The survey results, along with a calendar recommendation, will be presented to the Spring ISD Board of Trustees for their consideration at the work session on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Thank you for taking the time to share your calendar preference with us. We value your feedback.

ID BADGE REPLACEMENTS
Update
We are waiting on ID Badge replacements from Transportation. We called to get an update and were told that they are on back order! So, your child will be provided a temporary badge. Please make sure they make their teacher aware if your child has lost their ID badge. The teacher will then place their names on the google doc and issue them a temporary ID.
We thank you for your patience.

Personal Belongings!
Cell phones
We have had several occasions where cell phones have been out in class, ringing during class, and also being used in the restrooms. Students are not allowed to keep cell phones on them or in their pockets during the day. They may leave it with their teacher or secure the cellphone in their backpacks. Please make sure the cellphones are off and not visible in the backpacks. Booker is not responsible for lost or stolen or damaged cell phones. However, we will always do our best to try and investigate the situation and resolve any concerns.
Yet, you must talk to your child about not having their cellphones visible or out in any way. Sadly, it has been brought to our attention that a student has already had their phone stolen. Although we have no way of them. If you or your child is aware of any incidents involving a cellphone, please report it to Booker Admin asap!
Thanks for your cooperation.

NEED TO TALK TO AN ADMINISTRATOR?
Administrator Conference Request
It is important for us to communicate with you. If you would like to meet with any administrators or teachers, please be sure to contact us in advance to schedule a meeting so that we can best serve you. Often times we are in classrooms meeting with our students and providing strategic instruction, meeting with our staff, or attending off-campus meetings.
We appreciate you scheduling an appointment, in advance with the campus secretary in order to avoid a long wait or a return to trip our campus.
Thank you for understanding, it is greatly appreciated.
