Monday, Nov. 14, from 8:15 to 9 a.m. — Grab-and-Go Coffee Meet and Greet

Stop by on Monday from 8:15 to 9 a.m. at both the ECE and main entrances for morning grab-and-go coffee after drop-off! Meet PTA representatives, mingle with fellow parents and learn about upcoming events, and record a video telling us why you love J.O. Wilson!

All are welcome to take part! Sunday, Nov. 20, at Anacostia Park. Race Starts at 8 a.m. (runners arrive by 7:45 a.m.)

Join the "I LOVE J.O. Campaign"

We want everyone to know how much we love J.O. Wilson! Join the “I Love J.O.” campaign by recording a short video featuring you or your Cardinal telling us why you love J.O. Wilson, and send it to Mr. Bellamy at Sean.Bellamy@k12.dc.gov. We’ll also have testimonial opportunities for parents and students at the PTA Grab-n-Go on Nov. 14, and during the Book Fair, Dec. 5-9.

Interested in helping to restart some Girl Scout troops at J.O. Wilson this year?

Daisies are grades K-1, Brownies grades 2-3, and Juniors grades 4-5. We need four parent volunteers for each troop — two leaders, one finance, and one sales manager. Contact Larissa Horn (larissahorn@gmail.com) to find out more.

The JOW Coat Drive

We’re kicking off J.O.’s annual Giving Drive with our fall coat drive. Help keep Cardinals warm as the weather turns cold! New and gently used (washed and no holes) kids' coats sizes 2T-14, gloves, mittens, hats, ear muffs, and scarves may be dropped in the bin outside the school's main entrance during school hours through Thursday, Dec. 15. Book Fair and Literacy Night are Coming!

Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books

empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder and stronger readers. AND—as

always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.

Here’s what you need to know about the fair, which will take place from Dec. 5-9 in the library. Shop late during Literacy Night on Dec. 8 from 5:30-7:00 pm.

This year, say hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account.
Before the fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases.

If you can’t make it to the fair, then shop at our school’s online book fair. All orders ship

directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also

benefit our school. Online ordering is open Dec. 5-18.
