The Fowler Weekly
February 12-16, 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
February is Black History Month and we are partnering with our Fowler BSU students and staff to roll out educational Morning Meeting slides connected to historical black leaders. We are also working on some student-led lunch options as well. Additionally, we just relaunched our No Place for Hate campaign in conjunction with the start of Semester 2 and are excited to see how our group can positively impact the school.
I also want to share that we have met with our facilities team and a group of architects who are reviewing and creating plans that could add more inclusive locker room changing spaces and privacy regarding restrooms as well. We do not have a timeline on these projects yet, but will share information with you if the designs are approved to move forward.

HAPPENINGS
In the meantime, if you are looking for something that you are unable to find, PLEASE don’t hesitate to reach out to the Main Office either via email, fowleroffice@ttsd.k12.or.us, or phone, (503)431-5000.
As Mr. Van Fleet mentioned 2 weeks ago, we are now charging $1 per string bag. This is because we gave out more than 1,200 string bags to students during semester 1.
These are not necessarily the top of the line bags, they are simply intended to carry their iPad and perhaps a few writing instruments.
As we move forward, we will offer students replacement bags for $1 if they need and want one in the Main Office.
Students are welcome to purchase a more durable small string bag (athletic shoe bag) at any store and soon will be able to use tokens in our student store soon.
The string bags are not a necessity, as a majority of students simply use their lockers for personal items and swap out the essential class items during passing times.
Questions? Please reach out to Teresa Weitz, tweitz@ttsd.k12.or.us.
