RHS Featured Poets
Rockville High School students McKena Clemons, Kimberly Yankson, and Gabrielle McKayle were featured poets at Arts Center East on Sunday, February 12 at 3:00PM. Poetry Rocks is a quarterly series that gives RHS Creative Writers the opportunity to read with established CT authors. These RHS Students shared the stage with Manchester Poet Laureate Ryan Parker and New London Poet Laureate Emerita Rhonda Ward.
Black poets rocked Vernon Feb. 12! Poetry Rocks had poems of tragic Black History but also joy and humor. Manchester Poet Laureate Ryan Parker and New London Poet Laureate Emerita Rhonda M. Ward led the celebration with poems that elevated the SRO audience, with stellar performances by Rockville High poets McKena Clemons, Kim Yankson and Gabby McKayle.
