Ranger Report
01/12/24
Hello Ranger families:
I was very pleased this morning to see that the weather cooperated and that we were able to hold our REID day this Friday as planned. Students were able to take advantage of the time to connect with teachers, retake assessments and place themselves in a good position for the end of the semester. If your students missed today’s REID day, know that we have one more scheduled before the end of the semester on January, 26th from 8:00 - 10:00. We hope to see you there! I encourage all of you to take advantage of this long weekend to continue to complete missing assignments as you complete the final push to the end. Stay warm and safe this weekend.

Please partner with us to ensure that your child is proficient in all essential learning standards. EHS teachers and counselors are working actively to reteach challenging concepts, reach out to families and create action plans for students who have not yet shown proficiency. We can do this!

School Behavior Expectations
Safety is Estacada High School’s first priority. For students to be able to learn, they must first feel safe. At Estacada High School, we implement a robust, consistent, and caring behavior management system designed to help students access their education. From attendance matters to challenges with drugs and alcohol to bullying issues, we are here to support all students. Below, please review our school behavior expectations and the related accountability measures for violating those expectations. To promote clarity and consistency, each week I will highlight one aspect of that system within the Ranger Report. Thank you for your help in partnering with the high school to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Bullying/Harassment - Student delivers intentionally disrespectful messages (verbal or gestural) to another person including threats, intimidation, obscene gestures, pictures, written notes or uses physical force to intimidate or obtain something. Actions based negatively on race, religion, gender, age, national origin, ethnic origin, or any disabilities/personal matters. Hate speech will not be tolerated.
-This will lead to In-School Suspension, Out-of-School Suspension, and/or Expulsion
Each week, Toyota and the OSAA will recognize varsity athletes that exhibited an outstanding performance during the previous week. All qualifying students will be in good academic standing, show leadership qualities and serve as role models in their communities.

Potential Inclement Weather
As we progress through the winter months, the potential for school building closures due to inclement weather conditions increases. At Estacada High School, snow does not stop the learning process. Please review our inclement weather plan with your child soon and be prepared to support them in continuing their learning.
Our virtual classrooms - accessed through Canvas - will include procedures for participation by all students. Academic work will be equivalent in effort and rigor to typical classroom work.
Students are expected to attend their classes (during days of synricious learning) by logging into Canvas and following the daily instructions. Teachers will have information about today posted in Canvas by 10:15am.
In addition to participating in your virtual classes/learning, a day like this is an excellent opportunity for students to catch up on any missing assignments.

Classrooms are Cell Phone Free Zones
Life is full of distractions that keep us from performing our best.
Our expectation is that classrooms are cell phone free zones.
The classroom is a space for learning and engagement in preparation for a student’s next step in life. Join us in fostering this commitment to learning by:
Talking with your student about their cell phone use in school.
Be prepared to set limits and to collaborate with school staff in making learning a priority.
