BCSD food service director Lori King was honored to host Senator Joni Ernst and directors from around Iowa for a roundtable on School Nutrition It was a great discussion and we love being advocates for our students, families and districts. We look forward to working with Senator Ernst in the future as we work to ease the challenges facing us.

The cooler weather is fast approaching! We go outside for recess any day that it is not raining and the wind chill is above 0°. Please send your little toreadors with warm winter gear for temps 50° and below. If you Need help finding winter gear for your child please reach out to their classroom teacher.

Hard work pays off and Futures student Waylon Hall is proving just that! Waylon started working with Haupert Electric this summer in conjunction with our summer internship program. He did such a great job this summer that Haupert has decided to keep him on as a paid intern throughout the year. Waylon has been working hard learning all the ins and outs of the electrical field. Can't wait to see where your future takes you!

Waylon is the first of hopefully many Futures students to work as an intern with EDGE! Proud of you Waylon!

Thank you Tony Cox with Farley's Wholesale Tire & Express Lube for coming into speak to a group of EDGE intern and EXCEL students interested in the trades about what a pathway looks like from trade/auto school to working to owning your own business. We are excited to see this mentorship grow!
