Principal's Message
Dear Bobcat Families,
This week is the Great Kindness Challenge. The focus of this week is to encourage building a culture of kindness in our school and in our community. On Monday students will receive a copy of a Kindness Challenge checklist with ideas of kind acts they can perform for others. I encourage you to chat with your student about what they can do on the list that will create a culture of kindness. Parents, you can make a commitment too. Lead the way by showing your student you are also invested in creating a culture of kindness. Each day a different P.R.I.D.E. character trait that will be the focus. Teachers are encouraged to give away PRIDE points for students who exhibit those traits. See the video before for more information on the Great Kindness Challenge.
In other news, I want to thank our parents for your conduct in our drop off line in the main parking lot. I have seen a marked improvement in morning drop off. I have noticed that parents have made an effort to pull forward as much as possible to drop off their students. Some parents have even pulled up past the digital marquee. I have also noticed parents using only the dedicated lane closest to the curb for drop off. In addition, students have been exiting cars quickly. Lastly, parents have been showing courtesy and kindness as they pull away from the curb. I also appreciate the friendly smiles and waves that are returned to me each morning. Thank you for the safe manner in which you are dropping off your student. Great job!
Also, there is no school on Friday, January 26, 2024 due to a district wide professional development. I hope students enjoy the additional day off. Regular school hours resume on Monday, January 29, 2024.
Lastly, congratulations to all students who made the Principal's List. These students enjoyed donuts in the cafeteria last Friday and received a certificate and a pencil. Click the link below for the 7th and 8th grade list of students.
