The Viewpoint
Friday, May 19, 2023
Dear families,
The end of year brings all types of fun activities. We have field trips, WEB Carnival Day, a pen party, and more planned for students. These events are all privileges. It's especially important to remind students to finish strong! Please continue with your conversations at home reminding students of what is expected at Oakview, we appreciate your support.
Any necessary discipline may include loss of the above privileges and / or suspension being split up into multiple time periods. This means a portion of the suspension will happen immediately, and the remainder of the suspension will take place the last day of school and work backwards. It would be really unfortunate for any student to miss out so help us with the reminders about making good decisions. We genuinely WANT all students to enjoy these experiences, but they must earn it!
Sincerely,
Oakview Administration
PETER PAN, JR.
Tonight is your last chance to see this year's musical production. Mr. Dawley and our students have put together an unforgettable production - we hope you can come out and enjoy it!
Tickets can be purchased online or at the door (cash only). We hope to see you TONIGHT!

END OF YEAR REMINDERS
Locker Cleanout
The last day students can carry a backpack to school and on the bus is Wednesday, June 7. Remind students now to start the process of cleaning out their lockers. All stickers must be removed from the inside and front of lockers.
Student Medications from 2022-2023
Any student medication that was kept here in the main office for individual students during the 2022-2023 school year MUST be picked up by a parent/guardian no later than FRIDAY, JUNE 9. Any remaining medications after that date will be properly disposed of by North Oakland County Coalition, who is partnering with Lake Orion Community Schools to help with the end of the year medication disposal at all buildings. The Oakview front office will be closed as of Monday, June 12, for construction.
Athletic Physicals
Any student planning to participate in athletics next year should plan on having a sports physical completed. Click HERE for the form that a doctor must complete and sign in order for a student to be eligible to play. All physicals must be dated April 15, 2023, or later.
Immunizations Updates or Medical Waivers - Attention Current 6th Grade Families
The deadline for all 7th grade students to have had their required immunizations is the first week of October. Any student that is not fully immunized by the deadline will be excluded from school. You will need to provide the counseling office with documentation of any vaccines given. For information on specific immunization requirements, visit www.mcir.org and choose the public button. From there you will navigate to the required immunization list for schools or you may call your healthcare provider.
