Volunteer Opportunities
School Garden TLC
We are kicking off our volunteer opportunities with a project in our school garden. It has become overgrown and could use some TLC. There are plenty of tomatoes, tomatillos, jalapenos, and a few poblanos out there that you are welcome to. If you are interested and able to help in the garden, please sign up here!
Panther Pay Store Helpers
We are looking for a team of volunteers to help with the Panther Pay Store. This is a fun and rewarding way to engage with students at Scott DL! The store opens every Friday in blocks of 2-hours, from 1:30-3:30pm. You will notice the end of the store hours are aligned with pick-up time for your convenience. Sign up here if you can help!
Your help is much appreciated!

The Gomez & Gomez Dual Language Model
The Gómez & Gómez Dual Language Enrichment Model focuses on the importance of students learning in the first language to learn grade-level content and skills while "adding or developing" a second language through content and transferring skills to the second language.
At Scott Dual Language Magnet School, all students learn in two languages:
Students learn to read and write in their first language PreK-1st grade.
Students receive Language Arts instruction in both languages grades 2nd-5th.
English Language Arts and Math are always taught in English.
Spanish Language Arts, Science and Social Studies are always taught in Spanish.
Students learn content together through bilingual/pair groups.
Staff and students follow the Language of the Day (M/W/F: Spanish • T/R: English).
