Eastview's Virtual Food Drive
Eastview High School is holding a Virtual Food Drive through Friday, December 20th. We are collecting cash, checks (made out to 360 Communities) and gift cards.
The cash and checks will go to local food shelves so they can buy in bulk and also buy fresh fruit, veggies, dairy and bread products without fear of them spoiling. We want to help support the 30,000+ people in Dakota County who are food insecure and rely on our local food shelves!
The gift cards (from Cub, Target, Walmart, Hy-Vee, gas stations and local restaurants like Culvers, Subway, Jimmy Johns, etc.) will help us support our EVHS students and families meet weekend food needs and transportation costs.
Students can bring donations to Advisory on Wednesday, December 13th and Wednesday, December 20th. Our goal is to raise $5000 for our community!
The need in our community is great…but our generosity and collective power to make a difference can be even greater! Let’s come together and do our part to help our neighbors in need. #letsgive #virtualfooddrive
Don't Be Left Out! See "Mean Girls" Tonight or Tomorrow!
Mean Girls, the hilarious musical from book writer Tina Fey (30 Rock), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and composer Jeff Richmond (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). This queen bee took Broadway by storm and has joined the musical in-crowd. Adapted from Fey's hit 2004 film, Mean Girls was nominated for a staggering 12 Tony Awards.
Cady Heron may have grown up on a savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.

Eastview WIN Time on Wednesday Afternoons in the Learning Commons
Starting Wednesday, November 1st, students can benefit from an opportunity for academic support every Wednesday afternoon from 2:40pm – 4:15pm in the Learning Commons. Students are supported to complete their schoolwork learning in a supervised setting. Faculty and staff are available along with upper-class peer tutors (especially skilled in Mathematics). Students will identify their priorities (“What I Need” or “What’s Important Now”), create a plan for the most efficient use of their time, celebrate their accomplishments, and leave with a plan for continued success. Students do not need to sign up in advance for WIN Time. We do ask that students plan to be there for the start at 2:40pm so they can benefit from the full support. We will keep a log of students and their engagement (arrival/departure time and their focus/work while they are there). For students needing transportation home, activity buses will be available departing at 4:45pm.

Students should stop by the Counseling Office and get a pass to attend the college/university/military Rep Visit prior to the right visit. ATHLETICS SCOREBOARD
BOYS HOCKEY
Lightning Cruise by Lakers, 4-1
Senior Defenseman Kevin Woehler scored two goals and Senior Goalie Gabe Otis had 40 saves to lead Eastview’s Boys Varsity Hockey team to a 4-1 win over Prior Lake on Tuesday, December 12. The Lakers outshot the Lightning 41-18, but Otis was a human forcefield, making many spectacular saves to earn the win. Only 36 seconds into the game, Senior Forward Zach Wooten took a pass from Senior Defenseman Brayden Kaldenbach and scored on a strong move to the goal. Woehler doubled the Lightning lead at 9:36 in the second, scoring a power play goal for his third game in a row. Just 1:03 into the third period, Forwards Sam Wooten and Cam Roth executed a nice give-and-go play, with Wooten perfectly setting up Roth for a goal and a 3-0 Eastview lead. Woehler then converted a Billy Downs face-off win into an even-strength goal at 4:55 of the third. The Lakers scored off a turnover with just 5:26 to play, spoiling Otis’ shutout. Eastview killed off all six of Prior Lake’s power play opportunities. Undefeated Lakeville South is next up for the Lightning on Saturday December 16 at 4:00 p.m. at the Apple Valley Sports Arena.
The Boys JV Hockey Team took on Prior Lake on Tuesday. The Lakers beat Eastview’s JV Boys 5 to 0. Zach Wakefield was in the net and faced 32 shots. Lakeville South comes to the Apple Valley Sports Arena this Saturday on Youth Day. Youth players wearing their jerseys get in free! The JV game starts at 2pm.
GIRLS HOCKEY
The Eastview Girls Hockey team came up short on Thursday night losing to Prior Lake 3-2. Eighth grader Mollie Groebner scored her first Varsity goal assisted by Ellie Patterson and Ireland Murphy to put the Lighting up 1-0 in the second period. Prior Lake answered quickly and scored two goals to go up 2-1. Eastview closed out the second period on a goal from Sari Cords assisted by Erin Hayward to tie the game up at 2. Prior Lake was able to score the game winning goal two minutes into the third period and was able to hold on for the win. Eastview will face Lakeville South on Saturday at Noon at the Apple Valley Sports Arena.
