CMS Earth Day Logo Finalist
Cohasset Earth Day ran an art contest for all students in Cohasset to enter recently. They had over 80 students send in submissions and a panel of five judges deliberated long and hard to pick a winner. The standard of the entries was incredible and impressed the judges (Aleisa Gittens-Carle Metco Director, Sharon Moody Children's Librarian, Pastor Karen Francois-Bailey, Nicole Balaschi of Safe Harbor, and former State Senator Meg Wheeler).
Students in grades K-5 were asked to design a poster and students in grade 6-12 were asked to design a logo to symbolize Cohasset Earth Day 2021and Restore our Earth. The winning logo will be used on the town's promotional materials and our social media accounts where possible.
We are very proud of our own artist, Mary Williams, whose logo design (below) was among the finalists.
#ECOhassetApril will be running through the whole of April to promote sustainability and simple actions that everyone can do to make more sustainable choices. Events include running a virtual eco bingo board with different challenges for all ages and prizes to be won from local businesses. Check them out on Facebook for more information
K-5th grade students were asked to design a poster and 6-Seniors were asked to design a logo to show Cohasset Earth Day 2021 and Restore our Earth. The winning logo will be used on the town's promotional materials and our social media accounts where possible.

Who is Safe Harbor?
About the Safe Harbor Cohasset Coalition
Since July 2014, Safe Harbor Cohasset has been working to promote awareness and implement resources to help make an impact on the substance use in the community. In September 2017, Safe Harbor was awarded a federal Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program grant, which focuses on preventing substance use among youth ages 12-17.
Since then, the group has worked to foster a strong and inclusive community that allows youth to strive and encourages healthy, educated and responsible choices about drug and alcohol use.
The mission is supported by evidenced based, prevention focused, sustainable policies and youth-focused programs, such as Ground Level Café and the Safe Harbor Youth Ambassador Program.

Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu observed "In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity."
These are certainly difficult times and many parents and families are experiencing great stress. Our ability to cope is regularly challenged and, understandably, there may be times when individuals can no longer manage their emotions. It is important to know where to turn when we reach that point.
To help our families, we share this contact list of support providers--Mental Health and Crisis Contacts These support providers offer great opportunities to help receive help when those we love are struggling to manage.
