Dear Boulder Creek Families,

As we bring 2022-2023 to a close, I want to thank you on behalf of all of us at Boulder Creek for the opportunity to work with your children. Watching your children grow socially, emotionally, and academically and knowing we have a part in that growth is amazingly fulfilling to us educators. It's what brings us back year after year. Maintaining a partnership with our parents ensures your child's success.

So here we are, summertime. It's that time of the year when you are without us for a few months enjoying family and summer fun. Research has shown that learning is lost over the summer months if it's not flexed like a muscle. Even though we won't be with you, we want to help you while you encourage your child to flex their learning muscles over the summer months. Please take a look at some amazing information and resources in this last newsletter to painlessly assist you in preventing the "summer slide" and ensuring your child walks into 2023-2024 ready for the challenges of his/her new grade level!

Yearbooks will be handed out on Wednesday to those students who ordered one. It is imperative that student write their names in ink on the inside cover of their book. They should keep their yearbooks with them at all times to prevent loss. Boulder Creek cannot be responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of yearbooks.

8th-grade graduation tickets will be handed out to graduates or parents at the end of the school day on Tuesday, June 6th to prevent loss of tickets. We have only printed the number of tickets granted, so we do not have extras. Keep your tickets safe! The doors to graduation will open at 5:30 p.m.

At Boulder Creek, we reinforce all positive character traits. Each month of the year, we shine the spotlight on a specific trait. In May and June, we will focus on Courage. Courage is the choice and willingness to confront pain, fear, difficulty, uncertainty, or intimidation. Join us in empowering Boulder Creek students to be courageous.

Friday, August 4th: School Office Re-opens to Public

Friday, August 11th: Student Class (teacher)/Schedules available in Parent Portal

Friday, August 11th (time to be announced): 6th Grade Orientation and Parent Meeting

Tuesday, August 15th: TK and Kindergarten Round-Up 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Wednesday, August 16th: First Day of School - TK-3rd, 8:15-2:00 and 4th-8th, 8:00-2:10

We are happy to be serving breakfast each morning before school once again. The earliest students may report to the cafeteria is 7:30 a.m. Teachers will be taking lunch counts each day. There will continue to be no charge for breakfast or lunch through the end of the school year.

It's already that time of year again - New Student Registration Time!

**REMEMBER** You do not have to re-register your child if he/she is already a Boulder Creek student.

We are currently in our open enrollment period. We are enrolling students both in the district and out of the district. You can begin the enrollment process by clicking HERE. Get started today, as seats fill up quickly.

All parents, including new parents, should have logged into the Parent Portal at some point already. Why do you need to create a parent account? This is a secure platform through which you will view your child's teacher/class, receive your child’s report card, complete enrollment, and complete the necessary beginning of the year school forms like your child's emergency card. In the future, this is also how state testing results will be communicated.

Q: Do I have to re-register my child for school each school year?

A: If your child is already a TK-7th grade student, you do NOT have to register each school year. He/she will automatically have a seat the next year. However, if your child is currently not enrolled at Boulder Creek or is a student in the Boulder Creek Preschool, you WILL NEED TO REGISTER.

The Boulder Creek School Office is staffed from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day. All visitors must request access to the campus through the office entrance by using the call button to the right of the door and identifying themselves. Office staff will grant access after verifying identification. Thank you.
