Downingtown Cyber Academy Update
January 5, 2024
Dear DCA Families,
Happy new year!
Snow is in the forecast for this weekend, so we would just like to remind you of our inclement weather policy in the DCA:
- If there is a two-hour delay in the district, the DCA teachers will hold their Zooms on an adjusted schedule. The DCA teachers will post the new Zoom times in Schoology. Students must still log their attendance in Infinite Campus if they have a scheduled DCA class.
- If there is a Flexible Instructional Day (FID), all middle school classes will be asynchronous and teachers will be available via office hours, which will be posted in Schoology. High school classes will remain asynchronous. Teachers with scheduled classes will be hold adjusted office hours. Students must still log their attendance in Infinite Campus if they have a scheduled DCA class.
- If school is cancelled, DCA classes are also cancelled and teachers will not be available. Students do not need to log their attendance.
Elementary students participating in the Brandywine Virtual Academy will get updates from the CCIU regarding any changes to the schedule.
Have a great weekend!
Fondly,
Dr. Kecia Nesmith, Principal and Curriculum Supervisor
Dr. Kristie Burk, Coordinator for Online & Blended Learning

Current 8th-11th Graders
From January 23rd-30th, all 8th-11th graders should do the following to register for one or more DCA classes:
- Log into Infinite Campus to select your courses. Courses ending in a "C" are cyber courses.
- Visit our website and fill out a 24-25 Registration Form. This is an important step because some cyber courses are only available to full-time DCA students and cannot be selected in Infinite Campus.
Courses are staffed and selected to run based on the enrollment at the end of the course selection period, so it's extremely important that all interested students register at this time.
