The 2022-23 school year is off to a great start!
We've had a great first month of school! We'd like to give a shout out to the family and community members who were a part of our "Back to School Welcome Crew," greeting students as they arrived at school on the first day of school for both kindergarten and grades 1-12. #WeAreBremerton!
A note from interim superintendent Donna Colosky
Dear Bremerton School District students, families, staff and community members:
It is an honor to be your interim superintendent for the 2022-23 school year.
I’ve spent 37 years in public education. As a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, I am happy to be back in the Pacific Northwest after a long career in public education in California.
We all recognize that the past two-and-a-half years have been extremely challenging for everyone, especially our students and our staff. As your interim superintendent during this transitional year, I am committed to ensuring that we continue to address the effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our students and staff. I will work to ensure that we continue to provide equitable education opportunities, and support for all students and staff.
I want to thank the Board for trusting me with this responsibility and the opportunity to serve our students, families, staff, and the Bremerton community while they take on the very important job of selecting a superintendent to replace Dr. Aaron Leavell starting in the 2023-24 school year.
I look forward to the year ahead and wish all our students and staff a successful 2022-23 school year!
Donna Colosky
